Tailgate not closing all the way

This is as far as my tailgate closes (even with the tonneau cover open). Is this normal? I feel it should shut more. I opened up a service request, but will close it if this is normal. I just think that the tailgate edge should be flush with the rest of the truck.

Thanks for letting me know. It's weird that it is flush for some and not others. I will have Tesla look at it.

I’ve seen a few like this. It seems like a common occurrence. Hopefully your local SC can fix it easily

After you close the tailgate, is it doing the secondary powered clench operation?

Just need to loosen latch, there's some play in it and shift it forward, tighten.

Mine is about half that, so not flush but not as pronounced.

Pretty soon, we will have you tube videos of how to adjust this and doors. My driver side front door is ever so misaligned and it bothers me when I look at the side view mirror. Yeah, I am still looking at them.

I wish Tesla had Lexus/Porsche build tolerances and QC.

Tesla has been assembling vehicles for a dozen years and they still struggle with fit and finish.

If more customers would reject vehicles for sloppy fit and finish it would send a message to leadership to address the issue.

You made me look...Yeah, mine doesn't line up perfectly. I will wait for some DIY'er's video. You made me look and I noticed a chip on the plastic protector - it will bother me for a week or so.
