I have a similar setup as the OP, with a transfer switch with essential circuits which can be powered via a 240V source into a 30 amp twist plug. Essential like furnaces (in Tahoe), kitchen, lights. So although I’m going to get a quote through Qmerit , I’m thinking a 240 14-50 to 30amp twist connector from the truck bed would be just fine for emergencies.

That’s my train of thought also. My quotes were $5000 and $5700 from two contractors. Would I pay $5000+ to avoid a 1-hour blackout? Nope. (and here in ABQ, I have 1-2 minutes a year at most so even less ROI) - we all have different risk tolerances and tech affinities. Mine are not high enough in either category to justify the spend.
Raising hand yelling "I got this! I got this!"

Power has a very different cost when on vs off.
When on, it is simply too expensive.
When off, you may be willing to pay anything for it.

One hour blackout may be easily handled, but what happens when it is more? Like say gas truck hots the feeder pole to your neighborhood, and it takes a day or two or longer before that can replace the pole.

It's simply an insurance policy. don't want to pay for it, then no problem.

I hear you. I did consider an extended blackout (which hasn’t happened yet but might some day) - once my UPS units run dry, I’ll lose internet. And after a few days, I’ll have to discard my frozen and refrigerated food for several hundred dollars. And if needed, I might need to stay in a hotel for a few days for a few hundred more dollars. Still, it's a win to avoid $5000+ PowerShare for my use case and risk tolerance. If I was quoted $2500-$3500, i probably would have done it but $5000-$5700 just felt like too much. I do get the value change of no electricity and it’s a valid point. My parents lost power for TWO WEEKS many years ago in Charlotte - (no well water, no electric heat and it was Winter!) in which case Powershare would be a great help, even if it ran out after the first week (?) depending on usage. I don’t have well water and I have radiant floor heat running on gas furnace so that would not impact me as much as it did them.

Can always circle back to it in the future when there's more competition between installers or when it's not directly associated with only $100k+ trucks. My install quote was comparatively cheap (although still pretty expensive given the actual labor involved) so I'm moving forward, but my backup plan would have been a few 100' extension cords to keep things like fridge, internet and fans on.

Currently I only have an option to Accept or decline. How would I ask for a second quote? Also If I decide to not go through with it, those with the Beast did you get 4K credit+2.5K equipment credit back?

When you hit DECLINE, then Qmerit will look for a new contractor. Bids are sequential, which doesn’t really make sense for “bidding” in real-time, and for simultaneous comparisons. Sigh.

First quote, they wanted about 4,500 and made it mandatory to upgrade from 100A to a 200A service. Quote for upgrading to 200A was 7,500+ alone. Called energy supplier and they mentioned panel is capable upgrading to 125A for a small fee (ex: 300). Called company who gave the quote and they mentioned the system would work with 125A.

Moral of the story, keep double checking, as it may be possible to avoid the full 200A panel upgrade if needed.

Also, I used the voucher instead

To those interested, second installer had the same quote minus the supplemental work from the first quote ($1478). I accepter the second Quote. Not sure how/why the prices are identical for UWC and Heavy Load Backup. Maybe they are dictated by Qmerit or Tesla

The way they were quoted, to me, looked like standardized offerings.
