Some of us in other countries have reservation numbers from the first day ...

Tesla will get the Cybertruck to less than $80K the same way they reduce the cost of manufacture of their other models over time.

Specifically, they are always looking for ways to perform every process faster/better. They look for ways to eliminate production steps, shorten the production line and increase throughput. They are always leveraging higher volumes with their suppliers to get lower component costs. When they are ready to add another production line, they take all their learnings from the initial production line and incorporate them into the new production line.

Anything that helps them build more Cybertrucks, more quickly, helps lower the cost to produce. This is how a company brings maximum value to buyers of new vehicles. No other manufacturer does this as well, Tesla was forced to become experts at delivering value in order to compete with ICE vehicles, vehicles that inherently cost less to build due to not needing an expensive battery. Now, no one can effectively compete with Tesla. That's how they managed to go from a small EV startup, producing just a handful of hand made cars in 2010, to a major automaker with the best-selling car in the world, gas or electric, by 2023, only 13 years later. By offering superior value. Higher quality vehicles at lower prices. This is why other automakers are running scared and doing everything they can to slow Tesla down.
Exactly. Other manufacturers should just quit right now. Don’t even attempt to make EV’s. Teslas got this on lock. They have the best Truck, Sedan, CUV….. I’m not sure what others are waiting on. The Government should just force others to close and have us all driving Tesla’s….

You are especially correct about the Higher Quality, look at the CT, the quality is impeccable….

Yeah I agree. They are masters of cost reduction. I'm just thinking more about materials, especially the steel. Also labor costs are almost parabolic. I know the line is pushing for the highest percentage of robotic manufacturing which alleviates this of course. It will be interesting to see what, if any differences there will be between FS CT and the standard 80k truck.

I was also looking at the new Silverado. Quite nice. Huge battery. Similar price to AWS CT. I can only fathom that GM is taking a huge loss on that truck.
The bigger the battery, the longer it takes to charge.

As a shareholder you should be pleased that Tesla is extracting as much money as possible from the Foundation series.

Ford loss per EV is in the $40k range per vehicle. Same with Rivian. Meanwhile, Tesla (and BWM) earns a profit.

So many threads discussing the value of the extra $20k upfront price of the Foundation series.
I wouldn't mind I weren't so damn upside down on the shit.

LOL, yeah and most all have declined. Wait list is over, anyone who wants one can get one now including Mexico and Canada.
Incorrect. Canada and Mexico are working through list of reservations holders to order FS. You cannot, at this time, order a FS in Canada or Mexico with being an existing reservation holder. You can put in a new reservation.

It is only in the US that you can order a FS without having an existing reservation (because they have offered it to all reservations holders). When they have completed the North American FS orders, they will work through the US list again to offer non FS.

Keep in mind that many of us in Canada or Mexico have also held first day reservations for 4.5 years and have had to wait longer than the US to get a chance to order a FS. And many of us are early adopters of owning a Tesla(s) for almost a decade and major shareholders.

Tesla exhausted their Cybertruck reservation list faster than I expected.
Just those who are willing and able to pay for a FS.

Imagine how many orders will go in once the non FS are available?

In Canada a Cyberbeast is pushing $200 ($193) with the luxury tax removed and provincial tax added on. Not too many Canucks will be shelling out for that. Dual motor was $155 ish if I recall. Again, not that many will be ordered in Canada. Most Canadian reservation holders are waiting on non FS.

It will be worth a shit ton in long term future, it's like the first iPhone. Regardless, I intend to use mine every day and the aesthetics will never lose it's allure. There is no flexibility for them to change the look of the truck, It will only be software/hardware upgrades from this point on.
I have a 2017 Model X that cost as much as the FS Cyberbeast. It is still mint. Recently removed the wrap and the paint is perfect. It´s like driving a new car. I have unlimited supercharging and do several cross Canada trips per year. Did a whole loop around Canada/US last year. Lots of trips to GigaTexas for shareholder meetings and out to Boca Chica. However, I am careful where I park when shopping.

I am really looking forward to driving the Beast and not caring where I park. Not planning to polish fingerprints. Won´t care about patina developing on the steel. Not planning to wrap it (unless I decide to put my business logo wrap on it - might be using it a mobile office if the Cyberlandr comes to fruition, so might be doing that). I will have both vehicles forever and will fix whatever needs fixing when out of warranty. Normally keep vehicles for 20 years anyway.

People who trade in their cars/trucks every 3-4 years just don´t get it.

Your quote doesn’t show the provincial and federal taxes yet, correct?
Correct! just $168,740.00 - I suspect ill be paying an additional 20% PST (BC Lux tax) + 5% GST which as PVTesla alluded to will push my CB well over $200k.
