Ok got my quote yesterday. Yup, you read the title right, little over $14,000 to do the install. That's the first quote. Obviously they are trying to do a huge upsell on me with surge protection and 5 year replace/repair warranty.
My setup, Incoming Power Grid Meter to my home Breaker panel is about 30 feet. The breaker panel shares the same wall as the garage wall. So running a wire through it is very easy and short. Then I have about 20 feet to the other side of the garage(two car garage). The garage is attached to the home.

Quote #1, $14,000(little over, he wouldn't leave me a quote on paper or email until I accepted, red flag)
Install gateway, run a direct wire to the further wall in the garage, install the tesla charger. (upsell) install a 100k volt surge protector and 5 year warranty on parts/labor/defects/equipment failures.

Quote #2, $11,000(little over, sorry I didn't remember the exact amounts for all of these quotes)
Install gateway on breaker wall(inside garage) This garage wall shares the same wall as the breaker panel but the breaker faces the inside of the house. Run a direct wire to the panel/gateway, install tesla charger on breaker panel shared wall, same 100k volt surge protector but a 4 year warranty instead of 5.

Quote #3, $9,000(not exact, little over 9k)
Install gateway on breaker wall(inside garage, same spot as quote #2), 3 year warranty, lower(I think he said 60k) volt surge protector and the tesla charger is still on the same breaker panel shared wall.

Quote #4, $6,000(not exact, little over 6k)
Install gateway on breaker wall(inside garage, same spot as quote #2), 2 year warranty, no volt surge protector and the tesla charger is installed on the same wall as the breaker panel but inside the garage. This is the lowest quote for automatic power sharing if we lose power.

Quote #5, $3,400(not exact, down to the dollars though)
Install gateway on breaker wall inside the garage but connect the outside power to the gateway BEFORE the panel. It was explained this method has no automatic power share and I would have to manually turn on/off breakers as needed when we lose power. Install a tesla charger on the same wall as the breaker panel but inside the garage. No warranty included, no volt surge protection.

The subcontractor for Qmerit was Fuller Electric.
Please if anyone knows, because the electrician did not. How does the credit work with Tesla? Do I take these quotes and subtract $4,000? or is it already included? I called back and spoke with their receptionist, they are working on finding an answer for me but I'm sure this community knows already.

So, this is essentially the process I have quoted. $2,400, but much shorter runs than yours and wire adds up quickly. I have 2 200A panels, with most of my outlets and lights on 1 panel and oven, HVAC, EVSEs and other large loads on the 2nd panel. While it's possible for that 1st panel to draw 48kW if every breaker were maxed, in practice it is closer to 3-4kW load, well within the CTs capabilities. There's no need to flip any breakers unless you know the loads being backed up will trip the circuit protection.

As for the credit, I received an email a couple days after accepting their quote saying that I was not eligible for the $4k credit (I didn't expect to be, as I had AWD). It's not built into their quote, they'll confirm eligibility with Tesla after you approve.

I'm over in Pierce county, and got my quote yesterday as well. Contractor was Custom Electrical Services (out of Seattle, I think), via Qmerit.

The bid was for $7931, not including the $4k credit from Tesla. I guess, from reading other threads about install quotes, it's higher than I'd like but around what I was expecting.

In my case, my single 200A panel is inside my garage, the meter is on the wall outside (pretty much opposite side of the same wall from the panel), and the wall connector will be on an adjacent wall of the garage on the outside. I'm hoping to mount the Tesla Gateway outside, next to the meter. The bid includes relocating a handful of important circuits and ~50ft run of wire to the wall connector.

They didn't try to upsell me with a surge protector or anything, but I don't think they've done a Powershare install before as the guys who came out to the house weren't familiar with it.

The bid (which came from Qmerit) has a line item that says "Sponsored Credit: -$4000.00", and references "Tesla supplied Tesla universal wall connector" and "Tesla supplied gateway".
