I had mine for less than a week and traded it in. The software is horrendous on all of these legacy automakers. I've owned the Lightning, Hummer EV, and most recently the Silverado EV. I thought I would be able to look past the clunky early 2000s software but after experiencing several Tesla's, it's impossible to go back.

Just noticing little things like the CONSTANT annoying hum when the car is on and even just siting still in drive. People say this can be fixed with a software update but "can" is different from "will". That sound alone was a dealbreaker to take a bath in it and trade it in. I hope this info can save someone thousands because I didn't read about that anywhere online or see it in the several YouTube videos I watched on the Silverado. It is absolutely nails on a chalkboard can't-tune-it-out sound.

There's also the fact that you can't adjust the amperage up and down while charging the Silverado. For most city dwellers this probably is a mute point but for people that road trip or rural people like myself, it is annoying to have to lug around another mobile charger that has built in ability to lower the amperage.

From all the many EV vehicles I've driven, Rivian is the only competitor currently to Tesla.
Yeah the software is awful. Everything feels so clunky. It’s no comparison at all to the Cybertruck for sure, Not shocked they have lowered the price so much.

The Silverado weighs a whopping 2,350lbs more than the CT. Think about how that will effect the efficiency and handling.

You gain the advantage of being able to tow an inefficient camper trailer 150+ miles. But then you have to sit in a charging station for how long to refill that giant battery? 2 hours?

There's a reason they cant get these things off the lot.

I received a call from local Chevy dealer offering me one, but even he couldn't in good conscience recommend I buy it, since his dealership was opting out of the EV program, and thus he wouldn't be able to service the beast even if I did buy it. This was going to be around 85K for a barebones work truck without any upgrades or features.

I got my $100 refund.
The Silverado has a ridiculous charging curve. It charges 0-100 15 min faster than the CT despite it's massive battery.

There are definitely negatives, like the software and IMO looks, but charging and range it was the best tested by out of spec. It held above 330 kw until 30% and above 220kw until 75%. Who knows what that means long term for the pack, but it did get 130 more miles at 70 mph than the CT.

I think the midgate and frunk are awesome, but I wouldn't trade the sbw or FSD(when we get it) for any truck.

They slapped the CCS charger on it.

Have fun with that.

The local Chevy dealer has had four Silverado EV WT on the lot for two months. Originally priced at $82k. Now discount and tax credit bring them down to $68,800. 200kw battery with over 400mile tested range and 10k tow. Zero to Sixty in 5.5 sec. larger front storage. Spare tire. Center dash display. 4WD Full Independent suspension on Eight lug rims and floating axles.

Downside -No four wheel steering by wire, Stainless, FSD, Cast unibody frame or adjustable air suspension.

I am a day one reserve and sick of waiting nearly five years while the guy down the street was dumb enough to cough up and extra 20k to jump ahead in line.

What am I missing?
Regarding the FS edition: The $20k extra does include a minimum 7k-8k FSD value (likely far more once FSD is fully realized) and you also get a good 1k value from the lifetime connectivity, home charger $600 plus home backup ~3k, ATV wheels if that is your thing is another 1K (perhaps more once FS ends). All CT's also have a ~40% better drive train warranty (8 year, 150k mile) and larger super charger network. Not exactly worth $20k but you are approaching that figure. I would say if you want FSD then you really should be looking at it as more of a $10k upcharge even if nothing else you see as value.

We all have to remember the CT currently supports better charging than what we are currently getting due to Tesla's charging network not being caught up yet to it. Existing CT's are likely only to get better charging curves as more full v4 charging sites become available capable of 800v charging rather than 400v (unlike the current couple hybrid ones). The Silverado is also limited to this as well with the rarity the high speed charges capable of maxing it out (if you find one working).

Just got back from test drive. Road feel is spot on. Handled rough terrain and large bumps firm but LandRover smooth. Nearly a foot longer than the CT, the turning radius is very good. Visibility over the hood is poor compared to the CT. Interior is basic. Climate control is very good (I still like knobs). The software is "Windows Vista" bad. Cast unibody and A arms with coil suspension is simple and more robust. The CT uses stamped upper A arms and an exposed potentiometer/level sensor that looks vulnerable to environmental hazards. Bigger battery equals less stress on the cells equals extended charge cycles equals longer life span. Trade off? One extra ton of batteries stresses motor, suspension, drivetrain and tires. Thanks to all replies. Much appreciated.

Thanks for your perspective.

Today I took advantage of Cybertruck demo drive at Tesla Littleton, Colorado. Wow what a truck! And I installed software update 12.5.1.3 on my Model Y which says FSD for Cybertruck.

The gray Cybertruck interior A+!

I initiated my $100 refund from Chevy.

Oh-- the 200+ KwH battery on the Chevy yes means longer range. But it also means less advantageous driving characteristics due to the weight versus the 124 KwH battery on the Cybertuck. "Dumb range" as Lucid calls it; I agree.
I just switched my interior from white to grey. Should I switch back to white? Does it look good???? Premium?

Most pictures don’t accurately or adequately portray the gray color. I was pleasantly surprised and how much I liked it. Here’s another picture on a bright sunny day that doesn’t show the depth of the color but gives you some idea. Gray or white you can’t go wrong. Me-- going with gray, as my Cybertruck will be a work truck on the farm. That said, I almost got a white interior Model Y.

and, it is a Chevy. I was a Chevy guy most of my life but the quality these last few decades has gone down quite a bit and that is what you will get with a chevy. All the reports of engines blowing up, transmissions failing on ICE trucks and add on all the other issues already known with the EV pickup, make it a very risky choice. I have had the CT for 3 months and have not driven my Honda Ridgeline ONCE in that time. And I loved that truck, have 102K miles since 2017 driven cross country 2X, one return trip towing a camper from AZ. Best vehicle I have owned...until the CT.

I was really tempted by the Chevy because of the mid-gate. Larger battery makes it better for home back-up, too, if that is important. I love tech, though - that is the main reason I stuck with Tesla. Even though I know they aren't perfect, they have the best battery warranty, drive-train, and tech (SBW, FWS). I also like the stark, utilitarian style of the interior (and exterior) of the CT but the real deal-breaker was Chevy had no FSD.

Yeah, that, too. My last truck was a 1996 Chevy K2500 Suburban. I have yet to break the habit of having to keep a full set of mechanics tools with me everywhere I go.
