Additionally, as I was running the wipers, got the notice that the fluid was low. The blade left streaks across the top of the arc, leaving a gap where the sprayers are. I hand washed the the wind shield and felt depressions where the streaks were. No scratches just perceive able depression. Anyone else?

I find it difficult to keep the windshield clean, there’s always some smudge that appears in direct sunlight even after a (what I believe to be) spotless cleaning. Recommendations? Thanks!

I've been a BMW Washer Fluid Concentrate guy for years.

It works amazingly well, and it's inexpensive ($2.52 a bottle).

I mix mine to make two gallons of fluid. Nice thing is you can mix it stronger if you need more anti-freeze capability.

It's also available at Mini dealers. Same price.

I try and avoid the windshield wiper spray when possible, for any vehicle. Usually just makes a mess, works good when in snow and that kind of dirt. But hit a big O' juicy bug and turn on the wiper, it going to be harder to see after. For cleaning the window, I've gone to just a spray bottle mixed with 70/30 water alcohol. Works really well, and doesn't streak, because of how fast it evaporates. Sometimes you might have to scrub a little harder since it doesn't have any of the soaps other window cleaners have, but you also don't get the streaks from that they leave from the residue either.

I'm a heavy believe in water. Just be careful in freezing temperatures.

It has the advantage of leaving no residue.

I was getting that film that the wipers spread across the window that disappears after a second, but still causes an intermittent haze on the view. I tried replacing the wipers, which helped a bit but not really. I complained about this to a coworker and he told me to clean the window really well with a glass polish. Then clean the wiper blades, pump out all the fluid in the wiper spray system and switch it to 20/10. I did all that and I must say it’s much improved. It’s early days for me so maybe the haze will come back when the glass gets dirty again, but things are definitely better. I got the 20/10 at O’Rileys. It looked expensive at first, but it’s a concentrate so…

I don’t use the RainX washer fluid, but I did treat the windshield with the RainX coating. It definitely helps.

So this is awesome. I was actually looking for concentrated windshield cleaner a while back on Amazon with no luck. I figure you’re buying mostly water in the one gallon variants. What temperature is the antifreeze rated too?

I'm not at home, here's a pic I grabbed from the net. AF temp varies with concentration:

ETA: This stuff really works well. I just drove a BMW i3 and the windshield was filthy. This stuff cut right through the dust and left no streaks.

Adams Windshield Washer Fluid

No dye, good to -25F, cleans bugs, doesn't foul the fill sensor, works great, and its a reasonable price even with shipping if you order enough of them. Especially if you order other Adams products or over $115 of total items.

I've mixed my own, I've used Nexzett concentrate, BMW concentrate, McKees concentrate, and this is by the far the best value for cold weather vehicles. I use it year round.

I've been using the Nextzett Krystal Klear concentrate mixed with water and abut 25% alcohol in my Cybertruck (actually it's about a 50/50 mix of what the truck was delivered with).

My impression is that it needs more lubrication. It could be it doesn't work well with the factory mix or I have a bit too much alcohol in there, and not enough concentrate, I'm not sure. Maybe I'll try adding some more concentrate.

Are you using the alcohol to keep it from freezing? I use it 1oz mixed with 1.5 gallons of distilled water.
