Best replacement wiper fluid?

Well since at highway speeds the fluid runs onto the stainless steel strip that runs above the passenger window, I’d be hesitant to use any solution that contains chemicals that they won’t ship to all states.

These are great. You just need to ensure you mix with methanol or a deicer as the tabs alone + water will freeze in 20 deg or less. Of course not an issue in warmer climates.

It’s not that they don’t ship to California. It’s that in California the chemical composition of this particular product is illegel to be shipped directly to consumers.

Not sure if it is illegal to sell at all or just to ship direct though because there are some weird quirks in CA.

One example is butane torch lighter fuel. You cannot ship it to your house directly, but you can buy it from a specialty shop in state. So the businesses can somehow get it shipped to them, but you as a consumer cannot. I don’t know if that’s the deal with this windhield wiper fluid or not but I’ve never seen it on a shelf here.

Just be careful what you choose. Manual specifically advises avoiding bug and water repellant

Only use plain blue washer fluid. Don't use anything like rain-x or anything that could leave a coating, else it could affect front camera visibility.

That Adams stuff says "Hydrophobic Polymers for Repellency". Might be fine but if you start getting front camera warnings, it could be because of this fluid.

I’ve used Ceramic Rain X to manually clean both of my Teslas’ cameras and glass with no issues. (Summer and winter temps - after allowing to dry and make clear. No issues ever.)
No need to spend $100 on the washer fluid, so I’ve used the basic $10 fluid in between vehicle washes.
