Our cybertruck doors never closed completely, leaving an exposed crack. An engineer at tesla said this was a cosmetic issue and to stop complaining. Last night while on the onramp to a freeway, the door swung open out of the blue, sending the door flying wide open. My 1 year old daughter was in the car seat right next to it and luckily she wasnt injured. If that door hit anything - anything, this could have caused major damage, injury, or fatality. And whats worse? The latch on my drivers side door is ALSO failing, meaning this is a systemic issue, not an isolated one.

Several trucks have needed these latches secured upon delivery. It's certainly a safety issue, and if loose, well, they will cut the bolts from vibration and door action.

This is what actual recalls are for, to make sure stuff like this gets torqued properly.

Thank you for telling the other owners to check these bolts!

Can you post the dashcam video of this, please? Various parts of this event sound embellished to me.

That's a scary situation. I do have a couple questions. Why are you posting screenshots of photos? What Tesla engineers did you talk to? And how did you get a hold of them?

Hopefully they quickly remedy it. When did you take delivery?

Their r NO engineers at a SC
Those latches have been tampered with. Upon close inspection of mine, there are no scratches
If the door didn't close properly upon acceptance, it your fault for driving off with defective door latches. Those latches are NOT load bearing. This post is suspect at the least.

Did you take it to an actual service center? Did they tell you it was just cosmetic? If someone official from Tesla said that to you, and it is preserved, like all texts are in the app, you need to take that up the chain.
