The thing is... if the OP can fail to notice a loose door or failing door...

...why isn't it also obvious the person who was supposed to check that door could also fail to notice the loose door?

Like yeah, doors failing suck, and we see it failed. And it might not have opened far enough to see in a camera but freaked OP out because that is a bad situation.

Especially since a loose bolt continues loosening. What seemed tight (but wasn't fully torqued) at first can fall off later.

Did you take it to an actual service center? Did they tell you it was just cosmetic? If someone official from Tesla said that to you, and it is preserved, like all texts are in the app, you need to take that up the chain.

Our cybertruck doors never closed completely, leaving an exposed crack. An engineer at tesla said this was a cosmetic issue and to stop complaining. Last night while on the onramp to a freeway, the door swung open out of the blue, sending the door flying wide open. My 1 year old daughter was in the car seat right next to it and luckily she wasnt injured. If that door hit anything - anything, this could have caused major damage, injury, or fatality. And whats worse? The latch on my drivers side door is ALSO failing, meaning this is a systemic issue, not an isolated one.

Thank you for sharing. This is a massive fault.

Do you have the recording from the car cameras?

Really important for Tesla to own this problem and do right by you and all other owners.

I also have a video of when I pulled over which shows the door swung wide open as we are on the on-ramp but it has my baby’s face in it so I don’t want to share that here. But here is the video I took while driving back - luckily we were about 5 miles home but my wife literally had to sit in this seat holding the door closed with her hand as we drove home on the freeway.

And you can see on the screen that the door doesn’t register as locked.

Thank you for sharing updates. Really interesting to know what Tesla will have to say about the quality control of the Foundation series. This looks like serious negligence during assembly and QC.

Well folks - to all the haters out there, wanted to provide a brief update which includes my repair notice and includes my repurchase agreement. Thats right, Tesla may have thought it best to repurchase the vehicle rather than to keep it off the road... If the company repurchased the vehicle...what does that tell you about how flawed it was?

And, also happy to report that after submitting a complaint to the Department of Transportation, an federal agent from the DOT has reached out to gather information. So, more to come. This isnt over yet. I suspect we may be hearing about another recall on this front in due time.

You story still doesn't add up, and is sensationalized nonsense. You can't really consider your complaint about a safety hazard as fully valid when you were fumbling with your phone on the highway to take a picture instead of moving to safety.
