There is an energy field around the Cybertruck as you probably have noticed. I'd love to read about other's experiences with weird behaviors and how you deal with or react to them.

Here's my initial list
  • People in front of you driving slowly because they are taking selfies or looking at your car
  • People behind you speeding up to look at your car
  • People who speed past you with an aggressive look presumably to antagonize you to race
  • People who ask you to roll down your windows to talk/ask questions
  • People who ask to see the inside (with the expectation of jumping in the car-not just taking a glance!)
  • People who touch/sit on/crowd around your car when parked whether you are in the car or not
  • Lots of thumbs up.
  • Occasionally thumbs down.
  • Jaw drops and wows
  • Kids love it - point and scream "Cybertruck!"
Bonus, just this weekend, I've had a couple more incidents that are new. I found spit on my car. In another incident, a guy in another EV (Ford Mach-E) made a point to drive past, roll out the window, and mockingly laugh.

It's not all bad. Sometimes it's fun. But the negative stuff sucks.
Think of it like this: They can’t stop thinking about it so you’re actually living rent-free in their minds!

I was visiting my dad last week staying in a Hotel. I came out to take the dog for a walk and saw a kid and his dads putting their phones away. I said, hey, you want to see it. His eyes lite up and he couldn't believe his luck.

The day before, I took dad out for dinner. As we came out of the building, a car stopped in the middle of the driveway for the parking and a little 8 year old jumped out and came running up to me. I opened the door and said you want to see, right? SHE HOPPING INSIDE MY TRUCK! I didn't know this little girl from Eve and in she jumps. Her parents never got out of their car and never parked. Just waited for me to show her. I was floored when this little girl who I didn't know, just jumped in my truck.

A few weeks ago, I took my nephew to play golf. On the way home driving down a Farm Road, I had a van stop in the middle of the road and way me down on a turn. I stopped and said, you want to see? He said, he had wanted to see one forever now and could he. Right in the middle of the road, we hop out of our vehicles, and I show him everything in about 2 minutes. As I jumped back in the CT, someone came up behind me having to wait for me to start going again.

So many people look at me while I'm driving now, I just don't even see it anymore.

The negative stuff can also be funny. It's like a strobe light to reveal 'look here's a person with issues'.

Here are some fun responses to those who have to give you negative comments:
Do it with a smile and a laugh - I have had people realize they were being an asshole and laugh back. Others got extremely angry and drove away all flustered. Both are wins.

"That thing is ugly"
- If I looked like you, I wouldn't call anything ugly.
- it may be ugly, but at least its not as ugly as you.

"you made a big mistake buying that POS"
- maybe, but not as big of a mistake as your parents made.
- you should probably take a break from the internet
- oh no I made a mistake? Thank goodness you let me know!

"that's not a real truck"
-you're not a real man.

I need some witty responses for these:
"That thing's gonna catch on fire"
"You have more money than brains"

Have some fun folks -

By FAR my favorite reaction is from what I will lovingly refer to as "gold diggers" or "buckle bunnies".

I'm a girl.

They are so very disappointed when I walk back to the truck when it's parked somewhere and offer a simple "hello ladies" or hop out of it and it turns out I'm not their target audience.

They LOVE my husband till he casually mentions "yeah, my wife ordered almost 5 years ago because she thought it looked cool".

It's beyond hilarious.

People seem to forget about personal space when they see the truck. Just now, I was at Costco and a guy pulls up next to my parking spot and leans against the car with his hand and asks "how much you pay?"

All the while his hand is rubbing along the car. I said $100K. He goes "ohhh" and continues rubbing the car. lol

the sad thing is, I don't have the heart to tell them to stop touching my car at this point. It happens literally multiple times a day.

My co-owner has an expired drivers license (he does not live in the US) and the truck was stopped the second time by police because of it. I'm pretty sure they just wanted to peek inside.

Have some fun folks -
"That thing is ugly"
- beauty is in the eye of the beholder

"you made a big mistake"
- I'll add it to the list

"that's not a real truck"
- The truck is not real [waves hand broadly] and neither am I

"that thing's gonna catch on fire"
- And yet, it'll still be "cool"

"you have more money than brains"
- Thanks! I was hoping someone would notice

Love it or hate it, they always touch it. Like they think it's a hologram lol
