Seen a video on X posted by Dirty Tesla that the frunk will now open automatically if you stand in front of it for a bit.

He stated that it can do that because of the Tesla app update on iPhone. Is this true? It seems that function will be an OTA update to the actual Cybertruck, not just an app update?

Last question... when will us Android types get this update?

it's in the same update that has the auto park - and yes, requires an app update as well

Nice! So many folks, from grocery shopping to bank robbery, are going to love it. Oh I do condemn crime of any sort.. just saying! ?

It would be too slow for a bank robber, to prevent annoying unintended openings, you have to stand close in front of it for 5 seconds before it opens.

Is there a setting to turn it off? Never liked that function.

I never use the front, would love it for the tailgate though.

So before everyone get's too excited. And I'm not saying that it isn't a great feature.

But what happens when you stand around the front of the car talking? And maybe at home, in the garage? Does it have clearance to open?

Some of the other forums have some owners that have found this out the hard way with the trunk (where the feature first appeared).

Unlike the Model X doors, there are proximity sensor all over the frunk to determine if it is going to hit something. Vision may be able to help, but I don't think that it is doing anything yet.

There is a feature where you can exclude your home location so it doesn't open while you are enjoying a few brewskis BSing about how cool your Cybertruck is. :)
