Well it happened. Rear motor shutdown, 51mph only on front motor right to service center. They took me in right away. Shows on progress in app that the VCLeft Replacement is needed. Don't know what that is but hopefully today it will be done. Thought going with Tesla the product would be more reliable. Dayum only 14k miles??? Back in my Ford POS work truck for the time period! Glad I didn't' sell it yet!!

Same Happened to me. Service center replaced the "drive inverter". After replacing, they still had issues passing testing.

They said the new inverter was not passing testing and they needed more time. Next day they fixed it, saying that:
"The low voltage system needed to be reset and coolant purged. The firmware was then reinstalled and everything is now working properly."

"We do not know why the firmware failed and the issue has been resolved. We do not expect it to happen again. We don't know why the drive inverter failed but it is being sent back to factory to be diagnosed."

But honestly I am worried this can happen again randomly, since some of you are experiencing this too. And they didn't say anything about a defective drive inverter or improved one.

It's in thread. Besides it's every truck. Recall of entire truck coming. Tesla messed up with this truck. Sad.
lol. Tesla messed up with this truck? I think Tesla made a game changer vehicle and it’s near impossible to drive a standard piece of shit ford F150 for even a second after driving this thing!

Luckily there's only a handful of people but its scary it happens with so many miles in.
what if I'm on a road trip in the middle of nowhere?

Your situation sucks and you’re pissed. Makes sense. I would be too.

Tesla won’t recall entire truck. It’s a great truck. But it’s the “first model year.” People always say not to buy the first model year of anything new if you don’t want some issues.
naa, don't assume. Not pissed, just disappointed. has nothing to do with being first truck. It's been in production and testing for 7 years. Testing testing testing done. Good news is though, the inverter exploded and in place safety barrier airbagged the connection so truck wouldn't catch fire. they replaced the inverter for rear motor and running again. Good times.

Happened to me on Sept 7.
Vin 36xx, had 11k miles.

was driving on highway and suddenly speed dropped to low 50s. Pretty scary to be honest. Service said parts back ordered and the truck is still in shop.

Did you have the vibration issue before this happened? I’m wondering if they are related. Many got motor replacements over the regen vibration, but maybe the voltage controller is separate from that. I’m on just over 6k worried it will just die I have a big trip next week for a wedding will be great if it dies in front of the whole family. I’ll lemon law them, too many fixes.
