You can set your own max instead of auto max. I use 10% offset (so will go at 44 on a 40 street). I don't like FSD going above 70, so on rare freeways with 70 mph limit, I reduce. Otherwise the 10% works well most of the time.I received the 2024.32.20 update. FSD 12.5.5.
It seems good but I don’t understand how the speed control works. There is one setting switch that makes the maximum speed control NOT pay attention to the thumb wheel, and gladly speeds a lot over the speed limit… displays “AUTO MAX” where the usual max speed is displayed. How is this supposed to be functioning?
The other odd thing is that on the freeway it constantly hugs the left side of the lane, sometimes actually on the lane line.
Anyone understand these things?
"Lane centering" is an old concept. FSD now drives in the lane, not always centered. If there are vehicles to the right but none to the left, it may have left bias (and the other way). This kind of change started because so many complained about going too close to large trucks on freeways.
