I'm doing some reading into this, @igs may be onto something.

Those of you in NY who have title for the Cybertruck, is your vehicle registered as a "commercial" or "personal" vehicle with the DMV? It looks like California is automatically registering it as a commercial vehicle.

This may explain why some underwriters at Geico are realizing this and cancelling the insurance policy.

For what it's worth, I have Farm Bureau of NC.

Cybertruck [AWD] is $90/month, '24 Model Y AWD is $87/month.

Obviously all kinds of variables including age, history, credit and location, but it might be worth checking the Farm Bureau offers coverage in your area.

I just saw an article stating GEICO is pulling their coverage of Cybertrucks. I have GEICO and have not been notified myself as of right now. Has anyone else encountered this?

Here's the link to the article:

I know GEICO is cheap INS, but has Tesla Offered any policies in NY State ? Any reasons given to policy holders ?

All trucks are commercial vehicles in California, doesn't matter the size. It comes with the truck numbering scheme.

Geico dropped me in June. I took delivery of the truck in May. Letter said it was added to the restricted vehicle list and they would not insure it.

Switched to progressive.

No problem with State Farm. I'm not sure why people are upset about this, Geico is a private company, it can chose what they want to insure and how much the premiums are. If you don't like it, take your business to one of the many carriers who do want your business and have rates that reflect the actual risk.

Obviously it's fake news because plenty of people are still taking out Cybertruck policies with Geico.

In Tx and Geico sent letter to me in June saying it’s restricted and wouldn’t renew. I had 4 other cars on there, only Cybertruck not eligible to renew others fine, no accidents, late 40’s, been with them 20yrs I think. I decided to move all cars to State Farm and they insured it…heck overall SF saved me $250 a month ($800 for all cars on full coverage w/Geico, $550 on SF). It’s not ALL, so that is fake news, but definitely happening to some.

It's fake. Read the thread title, it says Geico is cancelling ALL Cybertruck insurance policies. Not only are they not doing that, they are still issuing new Cybertruck insurance policies.
