And if you were promised 2500 in equipment plus 4000 install costs how can they justify saying we'll wouldya look at that, you're not eligible so we'll give you free SC for a year (far less value) and if you have home charger it's zero value.

The $4k was never a guarantee, is was an offset to installation, should installation occur
The GW and UWC were ambiguous as to granted inclusion (GW more so than UWC, since UWC functions separately from Powershare)

Once they started providing alternatives, I agree the original offers were not properly sized in terms of value.

Would a January CB order have been eligible for these offers?
Original offer or a specific alternative?
AFAIK, it should have been part of $4k install credit. That wasn't dropped until after May 22nd.

Yes. The original offer. I now have a UWC installed so the free SC is a joke of an offer. So they entice with up to 6500, then pull back and offer an alternative of their choosing which has no value. BTW they said I wasn't eligible due additional approvals needed which was false. I installed UWC with no problem at my condo space. All I would need now is to snake the com wire and install the GW, no?

Original offer was installation of Powershare with free UWC and Gateway with up to $4k in installation credit, based on installation feasibility. It was always at risk.

You are in a condo and cannot unilaterally decide to change the electrical service infrastructure (the referenced additional approvals). Charging infrastructure is a special class that they/ HOA can't block. Backup systems are different.

Hey. Sorry I am not understanding you. I already got the UWC installed and have inquired about the addition of snaking the com wire and connecting the GW within my unit's electrical panel. I do not need any additional approvals. Also, "if" they are saying that because I am in a condo/townhouse I am ineligible, doesn't that mean ALL condos/townhouses would be ineligible? Thanks for your help!

Ah, did you install UWC separate from the Powershare program?
Have you submitted the survey via Qmerit?

Hi again, yes I installed the UWC by purchasing it and its pedestal directly from the store. I had them install a slightly larger conduit with the intention on snaking the GW com wire in the 'near' future. I have not tried to purchase the GW and have not contacted Qmerit. I am in NY if that matters. I still want to make the argument that I am entitled to the GW and up to $4K cost of install and reimbursement for the UWC that I purchased sinced Tesla has thusfar refused to provide the mentioned extras. Hope this makes sense!

Gotcha, what was the communication route where Tesla said you weren't eligible?
I'd suggest filling out the form here:
https://qmerit.com/ev/cybertruck-powershare/

Referenced from:
https://www.tesla.com/support/powershare

With all the program changes, I ended up doing 3 different surveys via different routes.

What was vauge on the order page?
Not that it matters, but a credit for equipment (nothing to do with the $4k install credit) was called out in a previous wording change. Credit in lieu of equipment was also added retroactively to early orders even though it was not part of the order page description.
End result, people got at least as much as Tesla called out on the order page at time of submission.

(I agree it would have been nice to have a call.
out at the top saying the terms had changed as of XXX date).
Sources of Confusion in the Original Announcement:
  1. Which vehicles are affected by the change.
  2. The exact date when the policy change takes effect.
  3. The reason for the change and the details of the new alternative.
This crucial information is missing from the original announcement. It's basic "clear communication with customers 101." Whoever is responsible for drafting the original message is doing a disservice to the Tesla brand.

I was notified on 1/9 that I could order. Note is says, "Your Cybertruck...WILL INCLUDE...charging euipment with Powershare home backup HARDWARE"
Tesla Cybertruck No credit for Cyberbeast owners after May 22 20240109 - Original notif inclu powershare eq

I then placed my order for the CB on 1/15.

Shortly thereafter I received a survey which I completed.

On 1/29 I received an email saying I was not eligible due to "additional approvals".

I tired in vain to contact Tesla, my service center, and anyone I could to say I did not need free SC since I was installing a charger at my condo.

I took delivery on 6/30. The day before a Tesla employee called to go over delivery. I told her about not needing the SC and wanting the GW. She said she would have someone call me. Guess what happened with that.

On 7/30 I received an email from Tesla that they were adding an $1,100 voucher to my offer of free SC for one year. I used that voucher to purchase the UWC and pedestal that were installed.

So...I will very rarely use the free SC for one year and currently do not have a GW.

Instead of Tesla being on the hook for a potential $6,500 to me, they are out the $1,100 and very minimal SC costs since I will very rarely use it..

Ah, I think using the voucher counts as acceptance of their updated offer so options at this point may be limited.
(No idea how one could avoid that with the Supercharging credits).
