You are missing a poll item. "Would have ordered if their app had allowed me to." When I checked out there was no checkbox to preorder it. It implied it came with it. Others have documented this.

Was your order recently? If so this would imply they are indeed looking at NOT offering the extender and in fact will be swapping the battery on the few trucks that have ordered.

I ordered because I really would like the range, but to be honest, I also really like my bed now in the size and shape that it is, especially for things like hauling E bikes. So I would be very, very happy to spend my money replacing the battery with a More efficient and longer range one, rather than having a range extender stuck in the bed and cutting into the bed size.
I wouldn't hold your breathe on that request.

I ordered it but I might not actually buy it. Im hoping it gives an extra speed boost or a large solar input jack for charging via solar panels. The input wouldnt be adding miles as that would be a large solar array but more for camping with a RV and being able to cover the RV’s power usage.

Bed volume doesn't matter so much when we are towing a travel trailer
The issue is that at 600+ lbs it won't be easily removable, so while bed volume generally isn't a big deal when towing it does become a nuisance when you're not.

A pack with taller cells should have been the solution.

Supercharging is so good and there is so many now that the money can’t be justified, especially when you lose that bedspace.

Interesting that the Foundation ordering page has the range at 460+ miles.
Yeah, ranges are equal or higher on Foundation order page for all configuration. Foundation is also showing 460 for both Beast and AWD, which is new (I think?)

Looking at the original photo it looked like the extender was going to take up the majority of the bed space, i wasn’t willing to. I’d definitely be interested in more range in the battery pack.

Tesla's going to need to do something quick. GM is dominating on the range and value side. They just released data today on 2025 trims, price, range. Anyone who claims that the Tesla network is enough to negate the need for range is missing the perspective of a large segment of the truck driving population. It's the difference between "can do something" and " can do something comfortably".

I'm been bouncing between the forums as I'm struggling with my decision. GM makes the range aspect easy. If I go CT, I'm pretty sure I'd place the deposit, but I don't not knowing the total cost, how much space it will take up, or when I'll get it.
