The vast majority of people that did not pull the trigger on the foundation series are waiting for the all-wheel drive with the tax deduction. As it sits right now you don't get the $7,500, so it's not Apples to Apples yes you can order a nonfoundation series if you place an order in the last year, again that doesn't mean that people aren't going to go forward, asking people to pay $80,000 for something they could just wait and get it for 72500 is a big ask
But you are also taking the chance of none of that happening and the price staying the same the rear wheel drive not ever coming. A cyber truck being every other car like my M3 is in Los Angeles and then that’s that. I completely understand if it’s a financial crunch and people can’t make it happen but the way people are so “absolute” about its going to happen is cringe
Personally I won’t feel ripped off if In 6 months people get the tax break. I live in California I’m getting reemed daily what’s another $7500 ?. I also won’t feel ripped off if In 3 months people get the cheaper version if it comes out . I like my truck I’m ok with my choice to pay a little extra to get it early and what’s done is done. Odds are by the time all the stuff people are waiting for finally comes I will be far past the cyber truck on to something ells anyways I’m more then happy to pay a extra 20k to have it a year earlier then I was going to get it cheaper.
THANK YOU! I’m about to receive an AWD CT and a Quality, Fit and Finish check off list like this is helpful.
MA I was so excited I looked over it for like 2 min and said “ok” ? figured any issues I missed service ticket will take care of later

There were also a lot of people like me who reserved multiple trucks. If I remember correctly, the first was in the low 3000s, and the second was in the mid-50,000 spots. I was invited on the first reservation to buy the non-foundation but not yet on the second. The $30K increase for the AWD killed my use case for the second, but I'm hanging on the reservation as long as possible. I was able to take delivery about one week after placing the order.

The lack of the $7500 made me pause, but I was beginning to regret not getting the foundation series when first invited. I borrowed my buddy's beast and rented an AWD, and I really didn't want to hand either one back over to the owners. I'm liking my AWD a lot!

I also have a additional reservation, I got my Foundation all-wheel drive back in March. My second reservation is basically just to be able to purchase a new truck someday without having to wait. If a waiting list does continue to be a thing.

I created a CT reservation in mid-July of this year (RN 12222XXXX). Just two weeks later (Aug 2nd) we were invited to configure a Foundation Series. Today we received an invite to configure a non-foundation series. I went to the configurator and built a DM which showed Oct-Nov delivery (presumably out of inventory). Same for CyberBeast. So I am calling it: original (US) reservation list is basically finished.

I wouldn't be surprised if you were correct. I suspect a lot of people canceled their original reservations. I'm sure the reasons were diverse. I canceled both of mine because (1) the price was much higher than I was willing to spend and (2) I ended up not really wanting a truck that large. (I'd like a BEV Maverick or similar.)

Omg you did not pull up a limited time coupon and claim that’s the inflation on it is a buck did you ? sometimes I don’t know if I should be annoyed with ya or you crack me up . First

Jesus did you just try to say the 5 dollar footlong wasn’t a regular price for years ? As a retired construction worker and certified welder I’m going to say I’ve hit subway at break 10k times in 20 years ?. It was the price just because “at first for a month “ it was a promo Dosnt mean anything. You pulled up a coupon ? I can’t with you. First off what truck on the Market can be compared to this truck ?? Let me answer NONE!! You want to say the Rivian I know but the truck isn’t $70k as well! Plus comparing the Rivian to a CT is wild to me. Like it isn’t even the same look! Compare a Rivian to a lighting a Chevy Silverado! And you know why he’s 30k over anything ? Because it can’t be compared it’s bad ass and even though you mad you still want it over others because of that !
back to the samich. Inflation on cheese bread and veggies and meat is what 5 things Inflation on thousands of components that make up the truck !
and ps where is everyone getting this 30k make up from what he said ?? Yeah he did say the REAR WHEEL would be like 70k I believe? But it isn’t out !! People thing to say he said the AWD dual motor was going to be 70K are mistaken. The AWD was always going to be 80k from what I ever when I ordered 1 hour after the first 5 were givin out who cares what he said in 2019. Ish changed

Okay. Yes, the $5 footlong was not the 'regular' price.

I don't know why you think that screenshot helps you.

Why do you think you need to inflate your claims?

The conversion rate appears to be pretty low right now.

I think it’s a combination of the still premium $80k MSRP, buyers waiting for a 2025 model and a wait and see attitude regarding a future $7500 federal tax credit.

Tesla might be facing a demand problem for the Cybertruck in the next 6-12 months. I predict that the $61k RWD Cybertruck may be coming sooner than we think.
Apparently Tesla is gearing up to product in house LFP batteries. I am assuming 4680 format.

I also got an invite based on a July 2019 reservation. If Tesla were to let me out of my 3 year M3 lease I might consider it.

Or If Tesla indicated that I could pay to swap out my battery for the latest tech in 4 years or so, I would do it. I keep vehicles for 10 plus years and in order to justify paying $80k I would eventually like to tow 250 miles between short stops. The current range, charge network, and charging speed does not cut it.

You reserved the cybertruck 4 months before it was announced? Impressive.

The last CT trim level to be launched will be the RWD $61k. I think we will see it by summer of 2025.

I agree that it will be soon if the take rate continues to be low on the more expensive trims. The only thing that might happen is they only sell them for a brief time like the $35K M3, and rather concentrate on a slightly more expensive trim as the cheapest (gonna guess $69K): One that gets the tax credit even with options and also doesn't have them losing money on a per-unit basis.
