I got a flat at 8:00 AM today. I am STILL waiting for. tow truck (it is now 1:00 PM).
I have been very patient, and Tesla has been completely transparent in their multiple calls and texts with me. The only thing is, every text is to notify me that the tow is again delayed…4 times so far.
I have always been a strong supporter of Tesla, since my first one, back in 2014, an MS60.
Since then, I have purchased many others….
However, in spite of, or maybe because of, today’s events, I am canceling 4 additional Cybertrucks I had reserved on day one.
It really sucks to be stuck only 27 miles from the Wilmington service center for over 5 hours! Prior to today, most of my interactions have been great, with only a few a little less so.
I’m not feeling valued right now as a customer.

Does your insurance company offer roadside too? May be the better option at this rate. Good luck!

People in another thread asking about whether the spare tire is worthwhile should come here. Tow trucks can take a while, sometimes a long while. Having a jack, basic tools and a ready-to-go full-sized spare can save you hours. I always aim to carry a spare (as well as an air compressor and tire plug kit) in all my vehicles for exactly this reason.

Hope the situation turns for the better OP.

I have experienced eight (8) flat tires on three different vehicles over the past 25 years. On two of those (Mini Cooper S and Ford Fusion Engeri PHEV), there was no room for a spare. The truck - yes, had one underneath the bed (as usual). Except for one blowout, they were all just punctures and could have been easily fixed in place without even removing the wheel in less than a half hour.

With this experience, this is what I decided to do rather than spend $1200 and loose 1/3 of my usable bed space for a total around $325 with all bits and pieces. It all fits in the smugglers bay with room to spare.

With the lift on the CT, getting enough clearance to find and fix the puncture is much easier than on my other vehicles.

First is a high volume 120V tankless compressor I also use to top off the tires as the Texas weather does its thing.

Portable Air Compressor 110V,Ultra Quiet Air Compressor Oil Free and Lightweight Small Air Pump

Second is a simple plug kit with a pouch.

Boulder Tools - Compact Tire Repair kit with Molle Storage Pouch.

I also added a GlueTread sidewall patch kit. If anyone knows anything about GlueTread - you know it is good.

Also had to add a coiled hose (about $20) and an air chuck for it (another $20-$30 for a kit).

Yea blame Tesla for not having as many tow trucks as they do supercharging stalls, makes sense, I’d cancel my 9 extra cybertruck orders too. Dammit Elon, why do you only have zero tow trucks.

pretty sure towing is done via 3rd party and Tesla is only handing off your info to who ever is local to your BFE location. Perhaps blame “idgaf towing” company.

Thank you all for the positive comments. First of all, I had my own auto repair garage, so I own many tools (including a compressor and its attachments). I have driven many hundreds of thousands miles on many different vehicles and can count the times I had a flat on one hand.
Second, I use this vehicle for work, so it is full of tools, parts, boxes of wire, even my ladder, so there really is no room for a spare.
I also keep the frunk loaded with electronic parts, so they don’t bounce around as much.
Yes, I agree a spare would have avoided this nightmare, but every time I try to order one from Tesla, they are OOS. Even earlier today, same thing.
Anyway, after finally speaking with the tow driver, he tells me he is now only 15 minutes away. Fingers crossed.

Why not using your own insurance road side assistant?

Thanks for the nice set of links! I've been a little concerned about this, and i think you pose a good compromise solution. I am seriously considering a drop like this, for peace of mind.

AAA Premium or spare. Or wait, a while.

I’m not aware of other options. Leave your truck there and Uber, maybe?

I'm failing to see the connection between you cancelling orders and your current flat tire situation.

The spare tire with the wheel is super heavy. I really don't want to change it by myself if i don't have to. I keep the spare tires in truck bed just for insurance roadside assistant/AAA to change it for me. on top of that, i don't need to wait a few weeks for the new tire coming, these special designed tires do take weeks to arrive after ordering. i was not trying to go outside of 50 miles radius of my home in fear of not being able to back before i got my spare tire.
