FSD on Cybertruck Performs Significantly Worse than on Model 3, S, X (and is missing features)

Since the FSD update, I have been 'testing' FSD out nearly every day. However, I have to frequently disengage due to harsh/ late stopping, unpredictable behavior in intersections, and riding the left side of the lane to the point of hitting a plastic barrier. This has been so disappointing that I decided to no longer use FSD on the truck.

Yet, since the update I have also had to chance to use FSD on the 3, X, and S. The experience on each has been significantly better. Driving is much smoother and actions are more natural. Furthermore, you can customize the driving style on each where you cannot on the cybertruck. Visualizations are also better and more detailed.

What is going on here?? Does the cybertruck run on an entirely different dataset or program? No excuse for FSD being this subpar only on the cybertruck

Yes, Cybertruck FSD is not as well "trained" yet. It's looking like we'll be seeing some major updates between now and thanksgiving. We shall see.

lack of training data in all likelihood. not enough trucks on the road feeding data back. What? 50,000 odd Cybertrucks against 5,000,000+ S/3/X/Y and at least five years of data against maybe five months for Cybertruck? Yeah; it’s gonna be a minute.

There are some very critical differences between my Model S and Cybertruck and I think we are very likely seeing the same thing.

1. Cybertruck hugs the left lane line more than it should.
2. When passing a semi the Cybertruck likes to hang left too hard.
3. The CT on backroads and at night comes to a screeching fast halt like it’s unaware a stop sign is anywhere near present.
4. Taking divided highway turns has left the CT completely confused and bricked for long periods of time. At one point the truck never moved, I let it sit for 2 minutes to see what would happen and just nothing.

The Model S was far more consistent and straight in the lines of the lane. I don’t think it faired any better on certain turns with it being too close to the curb similar to the CT but unlike the CT if my MS hit the curb.. that would suck.

The Cybertruck also has phantom braking occur and even slight minor touch braking that comes out of no where and the Model S has only ever done that back in the day when going under bridges during the day with dark shadows. I used to ensure I had my hands on the wheel just in case but it hadn’t done that in a year or two so hopefully it’s nothing that happens with the CT.

CT is wider and longer. It also has all four wheels that turn. The version we’re on now is behind the other models. Maybe have some grace about these things instead of being a baby about it.

Not everything can provide instant gratification.

This. CT will learn and it will learn quickly. It needs all of us to give it a chance, though. Yeah, it’s slower and more finicky than the sexy cars right now, but if we allow it to learn instead of getting frustrated and taking over, it’ll catch up fast.

CT has FSD issues but it's still way better than FSD on my HW3 2022 M3 v.12.5.4.1! I can go almost anywhere with no interventions in CT as long as I can tolerate some double yellow crossing, going too slow and close calls. The M3 would definitely kill me if I don't intervene. That said, CT progress gives me hope the HW3 cars will catch up eventually!

I have a 2018 Model 3 with FSD and have been using FSD on that regularly since 2019. So lots of experience from all those versions. I've had the Cybertruck since February (first group in Florida, yay!). What my experience between the two with regards to FSD is it feels like the Cybertruck is on a version from about 12 months back. My Model 3 is much smoother pretty much everywhere, and makes smarter decisions, drives safer, and so on. All the stuff my Cybertruck does is what the Model 3 did a year ago. I imagine it won't take a year to get the truck up to where the Model 3 is today. I sure hope not....

I have more than once disengagedFSD because it turns to sharp to the left and cut into cross lane too much. Couple times was going to miss my exit
