I have a CT and wouldn't accept this at all. Being in the shop for over two weeks that early on is ridiculous. I'd ask them to fix it on their own time and give me a new CT without issue and see what happens.
Good point. OP did they give you a loaner ?

2013 of most vehicles are obsolete ?. Hey I have a buddy that got an early S and he has supercharging for life so it ain’t all bad . No one can predict anything, you can end up waiting till the cows come home or you can take the leap and it works out. It’s all a chance. My cousin got one of the first M3 performance and paid like 100k. He lost but who cares. cars unless 40 years old are not a good investment.’ I had a 2019 m3 I lost in the divorce and the day she moved out I bought a 2023 M3 in like December last year? And sure enough new body style came out 2024. What ever it is what it is. But point is the second you think you’re winning they come out with a new something to hold the value and drop the value of the old one. Chevy and ford change body styles like every 2 years now to get people more often then they use to and it works.
Hence waiting for depreciation on existing models. If anyone is going by lease data, they should Be worth about 55% of the original value at 2-3 years.

If you can wait 3 years to buy this truck then more power to you. In 3 years we all might be dead live life throw your money away while you can ?
Plus In 3 years when the newer better comes out you really think ya want this one still?

I got to experience it for what it is now. I know i want it but not at this cost or potential headache.
Hard to imagine people paid 160-170k for cars that cost $90k new now…

Personally I’ve only made
Money on 2 vehicles and both are classics. Because this is new and no models before this I believe in 3 years this truck will depreciate less then if you got a brand new Chevy and sold it in 3 years. Also it kind of blows my mind all the people thinking the will wait hoping the price plummets. If the price plummets why the hell would you then want it ?

This is true. There may be something better. I spent the last 5 years wanting this truck. I cant see myself spending any large amount if money on any other new car. So idk. I have a 10 year old Subaru with 208k miles on it… once that dies ill have to make a choice.

They loaned me a MX, grateful for the wheels, free supercharging. AND also a person who needs use of a truck for hauling and towing which has put a big hold on my projects.

Hoping in the future they have CT loaners!

Lemon laws dont exist up here in Canada, I tried this route and spoke with the manager who advised there was no option for this—other than trading in the CT and purchasing a new one (which would result in a pretty large loss of $$)

Maybe I've been lucky, but I've got 65K on a 2021 Model Y performance with zero issues. I took delivery on my Cyber Beast three weeks ago, and there have been no issues so far. After driving the Beast (Drive by wire steering), I can't live without it. I'm a big complainer about shit that doesn't work. Document everything and everybody you talk to. Send emails to the service manager. Request a CT loaner. Rivian, Mustang E-garbage, etc., are far less reliable than Tesla. Rivian can even produce a functional tonneau cover that doesn't immediately break. Also, the Rivian truck is tiny. Good Lucky!

the thing about lemon laws is that they vary state to state. I met the MA threshold for a lemon law claim (15 business days in service within the first year or 15,000 miles) and i mentioned this to them, they escalated it to their business resolution team who either decides to buy back the vehicle or fight the claim, in my case they bought the vehicle back, which avoids it being title branded as a “lemon”

so technically, no my truck will not be labeled as a lemon, which lets them use it as a demo, loaner, or even sell it used to an unsuspecting customer, but it resolves my problem of owning a defective vehicle.

you can look at my profile and see the issues ive had that i posted about, i was fortunate not to encounter the inverter issue.
Another similar story below that just popped up in my newsfeed (coincidently to not) after reading this thread!

Title: My Cybertruck Has Been In The Tesla Shop For 3 Weeks After 4 Days of Ownership. They Have No Idea What's Wrong and I Pay For Insurance | Torque News
https://www.torquenews.com/1/my-cyb...-days-ownership-they-have-no-idea-whats-wrong

To the lemon point being different in each state ... from article:
In New York, a vehicle qualifies under lemon law if it has been out of service for a cumulative 30 days or more within the first two years of ownership or 18,000 miles. With Tesla unable to diagnose or resolve the problem after three weeks, Elan’s case appears to be approaching that threshold.

So I, like most if not all here was PUMPED to take delivery of my CT on 9 November.

Then, less than 48 hours later I began getting notifications that my AC charging was unavailable, thought that meant I could just rely on supercharging until getting it in to the shop… NOPE.
IMG_1796.jpeg

Both AC and DC charging were no-gos. Brought it into SC and without a service completion date, was given a MX loaner, and told they would fix it as soon as the part came in.

I was called back two days after dropping off to SC by the manager who said they would have the part and repair done between 18-20 Nov.

That window came and I had the feeling things weren’t going to be ready at that time. I reached out and was given a new window of “sometime end week or beggining of next week’ without explanation or acknowledging the prior promised day.

As a new member of the Tesla community, is this type of client service typical??
I still don’t understand how they can say they’ll have a part in shop one week and then say it will arrive a full week later…?
What was the final outcome of your “AC Charging unavailable”?

How long was it in for this service? And assuming all good since then?
It was in service for two weeks, there hasn’t been any charging issues outside charger not releasing from the port a time or two.
That being said, since then this CT has had 7 service appointments for other issues. An eight to be booked when parts arrive.
