Tesla has made almost 7 million vehicles in the last decade, fair to assume some have been driven in winter conditions and those lessons have been applied to all their vehicle production platforms, especially Cybertruck being the newest.

My first thought is that I have a friend who sprayed the underside and the wheel wells of his Tacoma with WD40 and after 10 years the underside still looked like new. He also used it to plow the snow at his house and Auto body parking lot in Orange County NY. The snow never stuck to any part of the truck. Something to think about?

Interesting... WD40 doesn't attack rubber parts does it?

Oh, and for the record, I've washed my truck a total of 2 times EVER and I've had it since May of 2024. Once in the spring to wash the salt off and once just because. I have cement splattered and hardened onto the driver's side (don't ask) that I plan to clean off maybe next year.

Fluid film would be a better option than WD-40.

I didn't do a very good job of washing the truck last winter. When I finally washed the salt off there was a lot of petina on the steal. All was removed easily with Barkeepers friend cream and an orbital buffer (just like waxing a painted car). Very fast to do the entire truck.

The bigger issue is brake calipers. Our 2016 Model X had squealing brakes after 6 years, despite little use. Turns out the pads were stuck to the Brembo calipers due to salt corrosion, were tilted, and unevenly worn. It was a battle to get them out. I ended up having to replace pads and rotors, and had to file the corrosion off the calipers so the new pads would move (I should have replaced the calipers as well, but didn't want to spend even more money). CT manual says to remove the brake pads and grease them every year in salty winter climates. I'm hoping that washing more frequently will help.

I'm wondering what opinions folks have on here as far as what problems corrosion might cause our trucks first.

What corrosion?
The entire chassis is coated, the panels are stainless... MAYBE the plastic wears in the sun (just get @AO-Pete 's XPEL wraps) or perhaps the brake calipers (paint 'em).
I'm nearing 2 years of "I don't baby this thing AT ALL" and if I give the truck even a half-assed wash it looks brand new.
