I would still be in if 500+ miles. I'm hearing Tesla will limit Cybertruck to 300 miles. At least until demand slows down. I'm 3-4 years away according to list. I couldn't wait another 3-4 years!

Depends on what four motors gives you spec-wise over the three we were told about on the prototype. I don't give much of a damn about towing at this point. It'll tow whatever I need even with 2 motors.

But if a quad-motor setup requires a 200+kwh pack to be able to put out the wattage needed to launch 0-60 in like 2.4 seconds, and a side effect is the giant pack also gives 600 mile range. Then sign me up for 4 motors and the monster-sized battery pack.

So angry. It's interesting how you pulled all your own statements out of my questions when you quoted my post. You said "real inflation" without a definition or source. I just provided a source for inflation. I still have not seen your source for your now stated "real conservative" numbers.

I'm sure you know this, but the material cost isn't the the only cost of a vehicle. Any inflation of those materials does not mean the entire vehicle cost goes up equally. I.e. even if all the materials used in the vehicle cost 20% more, the cost of the vehicle is not necessarily 20% more. It could be more, it could be less. They are just 1 factor.

I'm trying to keep up, but it's hard when people make subjective statements and don't actually answer any questions. In my post I asked 8 questions related to your comments. From what I can tell you made 1 attempt to clarify the type of "real inflation" you were talking about, but you made 0 attempts to answer single one of my 8 questions. Though you did take the time to inform me this truck is not going to be made from bananas. Thank you soo much.

Regarding Elon's tweet. I'm not sure what you meant nor do I have any context for what he meant. He many have been high on his thrown (where he likes to tweet most often). If we had the cost for how much the first samples cost to build we could put some of his tweet it into context. Oooh...I know what we can do. Let's just throw a number out there like all the the CT inflators like to do and pretend it's a fact. Here' goes. You know the first sample of CT vehicles cost Tesla $2M per vehicle. Now that we all know that; I've got good news for everyone! It turns out the CT today is actually getting cheaper by 50%!!

It would be 50% less addicted, tho.

Sure I guess? But isn't "less addicted" like being "less pregnant" or "less dead"?

This question is mainly for $69,990 Tri Motor reservation holders.

Hypothetical question here. Some industry experts are estimating that the base Quad Motor Cybertruck may start at $89,900 + $1200 destination fee ($91,100 total).

Tri Motor reservation holders, are you still in?

Noup, I may switch to the Dual Motor. I need Range 500+. I don't go off-road. I tow a Travel trailer. for less, I could get a Ford F250 Lariat and call it a day. I still hope I can get the Tri-motor for less than $80,000.

As a service to fellow reservation holders, I feel obligated to let the cat out of the bag. One of my neighbor's housekeeper said that a friend of hers, who used to work at Tesla, said that CyberTruck prices would be inflation adjusted at "official launch" plus an additional 5% for any high performance/range models. I'm not divulging names or details because I don't have any, but that doesn't make it fake news

This information was not supposed to get out so PLEASE don't tell anyone.

Depending on specs (like at least the same range plus some other improvements), I'm willing to go higher for more capability. IMO, quad motor makes sense for an EV, since it eliminates a limited-slip differential in favor of an extra motor, giving the potential for better traction control, anti-lock braking, etc; and arguably less to go wrong - esp. together with four-wheel steering, making front and back end more similar.

Also of interest is what comes out when. Heck, I might go to Plaid if I wouldn't have to wait longer to get it.

I am almost tired of waiting for the CT. Earlier this year I ordered a Y model and the delivery date is in December 2022. I will get the CT if it is still viable for my use but I'm #400k so it looks like 2024 before I see it.

This would probably be illegal in the US.
With some word play I could still see it doable. Kind of like how insurance cant charge you more for being a smoker so they instead provide a discount for being a non-smoker. Exact same outcome but a different play on words.....

Example: All CT's have a 1 year warranty. That warranty can be extended for another X years for free if you are the original owner or something along that line.

Yes, I have an early Tri-Motor reservation. And Yes that is what I expect the price to be for the Quad that I have to switch to. Definitely much higher than the $69,000 for the Tri.

Don't love it, but prices just keep going up.
