RIP Cybertruck: March 27, 2024 - February 28, 2026 (totaled in accident)

So first day owned 3/27/24 -last day of operation, totaled 2/28/26

Maybe not a right question but did the CT (you?) broadside that Toyota? Seeing the locations of the damage? Hope all is well, except two damaged cars?

Yes I was pulling away from a stop when the light turned greengreen. side cameras showed 2 vehicles beside me also starting to proceed. The Toyota made a left turn 5 seconds after her light turned red, indications showed she actually sped up. I was going maybe 15 MPH, @ 2 car lengths into the intersection. Hit her right side, flipped her on her side and spun her around 180 degrees. The police report actually stated she hit me. Video turned over to NHP and she was sited at fault. I was not using FSD and will always second guess whether that would have prevented the accident. Cybertrucks are tough!

A sad day to see a fine ship go down. Hopefully she learned her lesson and will never tempt fate when a Cybertruck is involved again. So good to have the evidence of her fault. Glad you are OK and hopefully insurance claims are smooth.

my take is different, a Tesla saved another life
my daughter was tboned in a M3 and she walked away unharmed

Yea, FSD is going to be the raw deal here. Comps are going to be good, so I suspect insurance will give a compelling settlement. But Tesla is not selling FSD outright anymore, so they will go to in a monthly subscription. They might ask for a lump sum to be made whole on the FSD. Maybe 120 months or so? But you never know if the monthly cost will increase.

there is no way the truck did that amount of damage with you going 15 mph. The damage is square in the middle of the car, And it flipped.

sounds like she was in the wrong for running the red in any case.

Nope all true, the roll over onto her side was slow I actually watched it after my airbag deployed. not a skid mark on the ground, she was flying when I t-boned her. 6600 lbs of tough truck. It took LVFD rescue 1/2 hr to get her out of the car, luckily she wasn't seriously hurt.

No. Tesla’s FSD transfer program requires you to remain the legal owner of the current vehicle until FSD is removed (up to 48 hours after new delivery). A totaled vehicle passes to insurance, making transfer ineligible. This applies even during the current promotion (new delivery by March 31, 2026) and for Cybertruck purchases with outright FSD.  
Insurance typically does not cover FSD value or enable transfer.
