Just finished a trip this weekend from Dayton, OH to NYC. 1200 miles total round trip, 10 stops, 24 hrs driving, avg 500 WHr/mi. Normal drive time in ICE is 20 hrs, but used 2 hrs for charging and another 2 hrs for extra breaks. I had no idea what to expect after exiting the Lincoln tunnel into Manhattan, but was amazed both with the flawless behavior of FSD and the complete lack of negative reactions from New Yorkers (my last trip like this was in June 2025 in Chicago and was met with numerous 1 finger salutes, thumbs down, and even a couple chases by crazies). No driving during the entire trip, all FSD, all flawless, even into the NYC parking garage. $250 total SC charges, my beater at home would have cost about $600. Consensus from the passengers is that this was the most comfortable drive they've ever been on. I was worried about PCS or flats but I have to say this was the best experience I've had with this truck, so happy I bought it.

One interesting tidbit, I kept it on Hurry the entire way, which resulted in speeds of 75-80 most of the trip. For whatever reason, I was never pulled over (cops in plain view).

Sounds like a great trip. I am having similar experience with the FSD being really good the "vast" majority of the time

FSD on the highway is stellar. It's worked well in Miami, Orlando and used to work well in my hometown. Since 14.3.1 it drives around aimlessly in my hometown mostly ignoring the navigation route if I have Online Routing turned on. It's also brough back old map issues that haven't been a problem on Apple/Google maps navigation for a decade.

The highway was great, but the most remarkable part of the trip was Manhattan. I don’t think I would have been successful with this wide a vehicle during rush, with out of control construction, no road lines, cars whipping in front, pedestrians walking aimlessly. It moved to the side, almost like a crab walk, when emergency vehicles rushed by. We all felt like we were sitting back watching a movie unfold, and without knowing where we were, all of a sudden we’re parked at the hotel. I refuse to do this drive again in a normal car

the first time i drove on the FDR drive in FSD i was convinced it was no longer a question if it can handle city roads. after that drive i was able to sleep in the driver seat without worry.

seems excessive for gas.....1200 / 28mpg gas = 42.87 gal ....at $5.999 per gal = $25710.....what does your "beater at home" use for fuel? just curious
