Posted yesterday in the other thread my comparison of the Hankook with the Pirelli Scorpion OEM. I changed from the Pirellis to Hankook at 23K miles and started a trip counter at that time.

Next datapoint on range. Did a 1250 mile trip over the weekend, almost/all freeway, on FSD, Standard mode. Campbell to LA to Blythe to Campbell, all in CA. Included around 100 miles of off road driving, desert dirt roads.

My previous 23k miles average with the Pirelli Scorpions was 365.3 Wh/mi
Since getting the Hankook tires I now have 1779 miles at 381.9 Wh/mi
A decrease (or is that called increase) of 4.5%
Not too bad for a tire that is a lot cheaper and should have longer (twice?) the durability. Durability still to be proven though.

Now my lifetime numbers are 24,904 miles at 366.5 Wh/mi.

Just before going on this roadtrip I had 500 miles at 362.6Wh/mi, so the roadtrip cost quite some efficiency. Maybe because it was hot, so the airco was on all the time? Also I had the outlets on for a mini fridge and Starlink, not sure if that amount (it is not that much) is included in the numbers the truck reports?

From a post in another thread:
I was told that the Perelli tires, the OEM‘s about 23 or 24,000 miles is average but the replacement scorpion tires give like twice the mileage………..
Do we have any information that the Pirelli Scorpions that you buy new get really much better life than the ones that are original on the truck? One of the reasons for me to choose the Hankook is the expected durability. If new Pirellis are just/almost as long lasting as the Hankook, that changes the equation.

You might want to reach out to HANKOOK to get their official line on these tires on a Cybertruck. I suspect they would NOT warrant them because they are not recommended for the CT.

You might want to ask them why they don't have a tire for the CT. There might be a reason. Weight comes to mind also available torque.

And of course we ALL would be interested in what you find out.

Thank you in advance for your efforts.
They are rated for the cybertruck! Look at the max weight, discount tire would not install and sell certs if they were not in spec.

Think about it, Pirelli and Hankook have spent millions on EV perfected tires
Tesla has selected them
The LTXs are not EV engineered
Maybe LTX get best mileage but at what cost
Back to the Pirelli, might be the best tradeoff of mileage and range
Think rhe Hankook a cannot match that vombo
But we will find out

btw, the wrangler Duratrak RTs are amazing in snow, range, mileage and sand
But not the range the scorpions get
How loud are the goodyears? How bad is the range ding?

I do some offroad, but 95+% is road. don't want to hum like a jeep coming down the road...

But I'd like a tire that lasts more than 20k miles and can do some mud.

it’s AT, more noise than AS
Hardly any range hit, 5 miles

I put on a set of LTX a couple thousand kilometres ago and happy with them so far. I'd say they're similar in noise and feel to the original Goodyear all-terrain's and definitely quieter than the Duratracs (which I have as a second set for winter). What I like about the LTX is they are load range E and should last twice as long as the original AT's, which were done after 35,000 km. Also, the LTX and Goodyear AT's are the exact same price where I'm at, $700 Canadian each. Costco carries the LTX so I saved $100 on a set with a promotion and get back 2% on my Costco card. Happy so far!

I have the Nokian Outpost nAT and it’s pretty good so far. Only have had 600ish miles on it.

Just finished up a total of 1800 miles on the hankook ion ht and in general they are far more efficient than my LTX platinums on my CB. 1100 miles on the freeway and about 700 not. The best comparison I have for freeway was short due to most of that 1100 miles, the speed limit was 80 and the LTXs were only ever used on freeways with a 70 mph speed limit. At 70-72 mph, the hankooks sat at about 380-410 wh/mi, no wheel covers and lightbar installed. Temps ranged from 50 to 95. The best my ltxs ever got on the freeway was about 420-450 at 65-67 mph with temps in the 70s-80s.

The downside, these tires aren't tough by any standard. Less than 500 miles into the trip (less than 1000 miles total on the tires) I ran over a screw that punctured the tire that I feel the LTXs would have just shrugged off. Discount tire plugged and patched it in 30 min so no biggie.

Now the low speed is where it shined. I stayed in rapid city and visited mount rushmore+custer park, wall + badlands, deadwood, and then bear country/cosmos mystery area, each on different days. Through all those touristy areas, I got about 4.5 hours of driving out of less than 50% of my battery for each destination and typically ended up at 150-200 miles traveled for each day, except wall/badlands where that 200ish miles used a total of 78% of my battery. I was sitting at high 200/low 300 wh/mi except the trip to wall and badlands since 100 miles of it was driven at 77-83mph. While in the badlands though, we drove for over 2 hours and used around 20% of the battery.

At less than half the cost of the LTXs, I am impressed.
