I was going to ask why California is getting a little over half the Ready to Order notifications so far.

But after downloading a copy of the Reservation Tracker spreadsheet to fiddle with, and then filtering both with and without locations in CA, I found that over 50k entries in the tracker were from "*, CA", and literally about the same amount were other locations not "*, CA". So the tracker has almost exactly half of it's entries input from California.

So apparently the Cybertruck 'Ready to Order' notifications being mostly from CA are fairly consistent with the tracker, if only maybe slightly excessive. Interesting.

What's also interesting is that the tracker apparently only has about 5 percent of all actual Cybertruck reservations, if there are 2 million of them out there.

Roughly half of all EVs sold in the US are in California and with higher wages Californians are more likely to be able to afford the early/expensive models in high numbers.

California has bonkers gas prices. I
was paying $7/gallon to fill my Yukon earlier this year while my family in Michigan was paying literally half that ($3.50/gallon). Our gas prices alone are a big driver of EV adoption. But as kbolt pointed out, wages are higher here too. When the median home price is $1M (https://www.zillow.com/home-values/1286/orange-county-ca/#) a $100k truck is just not that big of an expenditure relatively speaking

This is great and helpful, thank you! But seems to be missing a couple of key indicators that might help us figure out a rhyme or reason to why some are getting the invite while others aren't:

1- Previous Tesla owner?
2- Tesla stockholder?
3- Address in Tesla profile? (maybe this one)

I'm an 1127446XX, FDS, Tri-Motor, SoCal, non previous owner, yes stock holder, didn't have address in profile, and haven't heard a peep. Considering my very early res number, and so many people with such later numbers, it'd be nice to figure out what the formula is.

Thanks!
As suggested in another thread: prob put first 100K reservations in Ca and TX in a hat and did it in a lottery fashion, no ryhme or reason

Who else thinks that with all these questions, speculations and assumtions Tesla could be a bit more transparent and let us know what's up??
There's no real need for secrecy about how many invitations were given, to who, and why. And also what's the problem with letting us know when, how many, and at what time they wil be delivered. They know. They know.....So to any TESLA employee who's listening. Give us something.
BTW:
still debating if I should pull the trigger

orrr, it only seems odd to you because one of your assumptions is incorrect

hint: it’s the last four words quoted above

afterall, they’ve already told us what they’re willing to be held to: the Dec 8 order tranche said AWD ordered in that tranche will be delivered between Dec 23 and March 24, while Cyberbeast ordered in that tranche will be delivered “in 2024”

to date Tesla has registered 200 VINs, so they’ve built <than 200 units, and of those 200 VINs 90% were AWD
