A part of me feels that they get away with the piss poor delivery/qc, bc we don't push back... I mean, if time = money, and they're a business...I don't blame them for wanting to save money, but- the consumer drives sales, so the consumer has power. It's almost as if bc people have waited this long and demand is so high, people will take subpar quality of a $100k+ vehicle, jus bc. But what people don't realize, is that sets the course going forward. I wish people would make more noise about the delivery and quality. You waited for this since 2019, you deserve a clean vehicle without major flaws or defects.

That all said, I am aware there will be some acceptable level of flaw and defect of a newly released vehicle, with the expectation those issues will be resolved (and covered) by Tesla.

It doesn’t matter.. the CT is in ā€˜high demand’.. take it, be happy.

…and they know this

My '22 sienna was fully detailed and parked indoors in a glass structure within the showroom when i went to pick it up. The set up is so you drive it right off the showroom floor. As someone mentioned above, they need to take pride in what they do. How are they not embarrassed to turn over a new car to its owner in that shape? Nevermind that its a 6 figure luxury vehicle
When Tesla has low sales or cancels an order, it doesn’t come out of those employees paychecks. They just go with the flow. I must say though, my 23 Model X Plaid was delivered in tip top shape. It was even waxed

You are picky in my opinion. I was just glad I got my CT. I did cared if it not perfect. They want you to have it asap. All you need to do is ask them to hold it back and wash/clean for you. They would do it too.

I see their strategy now.

Communicate so poorly that people accept a poor delivery because they’re getting some level attention. Save all the money on the detailing and delivery team staff that are no longer needed.

brilliant!

Nope, I asked.

I’m sorry for your experience. That’s just wrong to deliver a truck in that condition and try to convince you it took 2 hours and still look that bad.

Or simply ask them to tell the truth. What happened? Warn them that lying is not an option in any transaction. Never.

If Tesla offered Lexus like impeccable QC and top notch service they would be at the top of their game.

No other car company could get away with delivering a dirty vehicle like that to a customer.

Tesla customers are partially to blame. Instead of accepting delivery of new vehicles that are substandard they should be rejected. This would send a message to Tesla leadership.

Agreed. I can understand no delivery light show or smoke kind of deal but a little soap and water isn’t too much to ask. They could even use the $130 Tesla detailing kit. 🤣

I understand this frustration as I had it for a few seconds on pickup as it is the most expensive car I have ever owned, however talking to the very friendly staff and understanding they laid off thousands of employees including delivery centers staff and had all these piled up deliveries from the recall so I have empathy if they can’t wash off a little dirt and they didn’t make any excuses, if I saw something they quickly cleaned it and took photos so I had a better pickup and so it sucks they didn’t even try for you. I picked up mine and it had minor dirt but I wouldn’t reject a pickup because of that. I know people that buy Ferraris that would never let the dealers clean the car, they just don’t do a good job of cleaning, so no one is perfect out there. It’s best to focus on the pickup checklist from teslabros. https://107.22.25.52/ultimate-tesla-cybertruck-delivery-day-checklist/. Tesla will make it right if something is not right on pickup, they give that window of 7 days and 100 miles to find any issue and report and they make a decent effort to fix those quickly, while I don’t love finding a problem, I’d rather deal with that then get a non Tesla car. Rejecting a cybertruck is not the same as rejecting another massed produced car or other models, your going to wait a long time so it’s not worth cancelling in my opinion.

Took a close look at a CT that was staged for delivery early this week in Lynnwood WA. I was stunned at the lack of effort that went into cleaning it. Water spots everywhere, streaks where it was quickly wiped down, tonneau and wheel wells really dirty. It was clearly a spray-and-wipe job.

On the contrary, a friend took delivery of his CT yesterday from the same SC and was happy with how it looked.

These trucks are coming off the transporter filthy, almost like they’d been off-roading, so there’s a lot of cleaning to do. However… The first CT I saw was a display unit in February at the SC in Glendale AZ. Outside some fingerprints on the door edges, it was pristine. If that’s the measuring stick Tesla is putting on display to promote this product, that’s what I would expect for my $100,000-plus.
