I actually went the opposite direction and recently changed my order from AWD to beast. I initially ordered the AWD largely because of FOMO and the hope that I could get one early in production just as the ramp was happening. Clearly that hasn’t happened and no reason to think I’d get a VIN let alone take delivery before the end of March estimate. The lack of deliveries to the Northeast US makes me hopeful that the delta between AWD and beast deliveries in this area may not be so big. The price difference is a lot to swallow but I think it’s a better value with the charging install credit and the light bar. Maybe the fed will even lower rates in June and save me a few bucks on the financing.I’ve actually considered downgrading to AWD as I’ve heard people (12/8 configurations) got their VINs within days after switching. I just know I’m going to regret it when I start seeing other beasts on the road lol. We’ve waited this long so might as well wait a little longer for something we WANT and not settle. As I’m sitting in my car outside my house and typing this, a cybertruck just drove by. I think the cybertruck gods just sent me a sign haha. I have a feeling once you get your VIN and you realize how close you are, your enthusiasm will reignite!
