2025 Cybertruck - Are they being delivered yet?

I thought I read they were going to change their policies on model years but that has not been the case in years past. So your statement that Tesla normally changes model year in October is absolutely inaccurate.

For whatever my experience is worth, which may be nothing as I’m just a random internet stranger:

In 2019, they rolled over to the 2020 model 3 on oct 1st. I got a nov build that was 2020. Delivered in 2019. This change was also accompanied on the 3 performance by the dark wheels instead of silver. This was the first time I’ve seen a hardware change in conjunction with a model 3 year change.

I ordered another model 3 in nov 2021. It was delivered before thanksgiving, and was also a 2022. I believe from what I remember following, they changed the line over to 2022 on Nov 1st, 2021.

They used to change over on Jan 1st, but late 2019 builds were absolutely 2020s. I heard they changed this that year having something to do with European laws. I have no other context though.

About 28k FS were made and the estimate is about 10% were FS CB.

The VIN doesn't match up with production or vehicles sold.

Yes. Digit 10 in the VIN is the year code. R=2024. If it's something else, that should signify 2025 models.

I appreciate the info. I’m confused because I’ve seen Non-Foundation Series with the R=2024. I actually saw a 42xxx Non-foundation series vin and a 42xxx Foundation series vin and both with R=2024.

My vin is 49xxx, still 2024

S will be non-Foundation (in the US at least), but R does not guarantee Foundation.

I believe tomorrow 14 Nov 2024 is the day the factory will switch to producing the official 2025 model year Cybertrucks.

I placed my order on Nov 14th. I was an early reservation holder and received my Vin the next day on Nov 15. NonFS dual motor and The Vin is 2024 but no delivery schedule date yet. I wonder if i would get a 2025 if i were to push back my delivery 2 weeks.

I would GUESS it would take a bit longer than that to get a 2025 VIN, but who really knows! You could possibly get some idea by checking the Inventory page on Tesla to see if they show up there? Check Florida and I think Texas zip codes as they were two states that I thought showed inventory when I looked-but there were possibly more-I didn’t check! I used 33139 for Florida.
