Went with the 285/70/r20 since I still like my wheels. They are sooo grippy and off road much better. Fit fine, just cut a bit of overbolt off to be safe. Didn’t notice any range improvements or reductions yet.

Yep
Overall diameter: ~ 2.1 inches taller (36.7” vs 34.6”)
• Sidewall height: ~ 0.56 inches taller per side
• Circumference: about 6% larger
• Speedometer impact: When your speedometer reads 60 mph, you’d actually be going about 63.6 mph with the 285/70R20 tires.

How much clearance do you have to the wheel well when turned fully left or right?

I can take a look. But they don’t rub or anything lock to to lock no noise. Was a super easy install and i got a nice little bump in size on the stock wheels without having to go down the fitment rabbit hole. I have had several sets of Open Country on different trucks and was excited to get some for my CT that were just plug and play. :)

So it gets you more miles out of your vehicles warranty 🤔

Tire sizes and knowing if they will fit or not has always baffled my mind.

Is there a way to adjust wheel diameter in the UI?

I installed the tires about a month ago. Love everything about them but afraid they are hurting range too much. Core tires avg after 1800 miles was 417. Avg after 1500 miles on larger AT3 is 455. When running 75+ getting numbers 515 low end to over 600. Didn’t track super close before tire change for highway driving. What are other beast owners seeing out of other AT tires correct diameter at highway speeds?

There's really no way to tell the truck what size tires are installed to adjust the speedometer? Or how about the truck self check against GPS once in a while and self adjust the speedometer?

Yeah… seems like especially because of the point made above with respect to warrantee miles and liability produced by FSD driving at potentially very excessive speeds, Tesla would want to do something like this in the software.

What does “just cut a bit of overbolt to be safe” mean? Could you be a little more specific? What exactly did you cut? How ? Why? Etc
