50% Smoked Tinted PPF wrap film through TWraps @TWRAPS . You can still see all the texture of the stainless steel through the wrap (which adds a depth beyond what I’ve seen with other wraps). You also get the durability and ease of cleaning of 8mm PPF, plus the darker gray color I love.

If I were to do PPF (an eternal battle in my brain) I would do this. It is an “edge to edge” wrap and not a “rolled edge” right? I feel I could do this myself.

It folds around the edges actually. Otherwise the stainless steel shines too much on the edges. The edge work while time consuming does not add much complexity though, not with our cut pattern at least :) (which I developed from scratch to ease installation)

This is the kit I really like. Just gotta prep my steel as it’s stained from winter road junk.

Wow, great choice, looks fantastic! This weekend they’re putting a clear PPF on mine and topping it with the ceramic coating to give it a little extra shine.

I love the color, love the transparent nature and the idea of of the Stainless brushing showing through. Those swirl marks are hard to ignore though…. Some PPF can self heal but I’ve not known them to reduce swirl

Just to clarify - the swirl marks are from the CT's stainless steel body, not the PPF...the PPF just doesn't hide them as it's semi-transparent. With that said we also have 30% tinted PPF (the one above is 50%) which will hide more as it's darker. Never wrapped in it though so I don't have photos for now :(

Even though I love my color shift wrap, I have to say I LOVE the look of the smoked clear wrap. The sheen and depth really enhance the original look without losing all the stainless steel. Nicely done!

How did those swirls originate? I've not seen any truck with swirl marks as delivered from Tesla.

Buffing attempts and hand washing perhaps? Not sure but mine has them too. Mine even came with chips on the steel (at delivery).

I saw the swirls on a color wrap done by TSportline. I was told they self-heal, but I don't understand why they show up on newly wrapped vehicles to begin with.

No, I didn’t do anything funky (polishing or the like) after receiving the truck from the factory. If you look at the natural grain of every CT, they all have a subtle swirl- it’s something to do with their finishing process on the stainless. It’s grown on me, as it adds some depth and texture that you wouldn’t otherwise get with a wrap. If you don’t like it, I’d say go with a solid color. Personally, I’ve always loved the natural look of the truck- I just wanted a darker shade and a way to make it much easier to clean. I recently returned from a few days in the snow, and all the road muck rinsed right off and it was back to pristine condition. It was great.
