Is the reserved CT the only vehicle in your account? What about other CT accessory or even the Universal Connector - what does it say?

Yes of course I will get a charger. Since it's warrantied, i thought I'd get it after the truck or once I know delivery. Did prices go way up on them? I thought the regular wall charger was like 400 bucks just a few months ago

I don't think it was ever $400. I bought my "regular" NACS connector back in Aug of 2024 and it was $450 then. Universal was $580 at that time.
Now the price difference is only $65.

WHAT! I have had a Tesla certified electrician here and after planning on Tesla's Universal with powersharing, we discovered that we would have to move the entire indoor panel to the outside wall by the location for the Gateway. Decided that tripled the cost to just install the charger alone in the garage. I have his bid to tap into our box, run the wire 85 feet and install the Universal charger in our garage. We just aren't going to do the powershare feature which can only be used by CT. Also your chargers just jumped more than $100.

Im a first time EV buyer so my account is blank. I haven't purchased anything.

Well oops, says the same thing on the universal charger but I clicked on it and it will allow me to purchase it even though I get the same message that its not compatible

Ok - it's what I thought. Tesla shop usually checks to see if the item you are looking at is compatible with any of the vehicle in your account. If there is one, it says it by name. If there are more than one, it says "not compatible with any vehicle in your account". It doesn't count order / reservation.

For just $65 price difference, you definitely want to get the Universal Connector. It's the only one compatible with powershare feature of your CT.

The price if you add to order or separately buy from Tesla shop - same, at least it was for me.

Anyone thinking of buying your first (or an additional ) wall connector, I would highly recommend the universal over the regular. Besides being the only one that is compatible with powershare feature, it also has an extra set of lugs inside - which means you can literally run another wall connector (if you need two) from it, without the need for a separate circuit or a junction box. Actually, that is what Tesla suggests and it is fully code compliant.

And you will be ready for your friend/family's non NACS EVs too.

Does anyone know when the production year changes from 2026 to 2027

I am 2-1/2 days and 8 pages behind, but I will give my belated response. Since Tesla "model years" are an arbitrary date when they start changing a digit in the VIN, there is no absolute line in the sand. But since Tesla does not use conventional legacy auto, "New for 2027!!!!" style marketing, they have no incentive to call mid-2026 builds as "2027" trucks.
I picked up my PAWD truck on 12/14/24. My truck was built in mid-November and is a 2024 model. From my avid Tesla fanboy watching, and being an owner since 2018, I would say that Tesla historically flips model years on or around the Thanksgiving break.
There is no absolute, and Tesla *could* arbitrarily decide to make "2027s" earlier this year, but I think those hoping for "2027 models" in September will be disappointed. This isn't Ford, GM, or Toyota, (thankfully).

Mobile Connector: 32A on a 14-50, ~20 mi/hr. Portable, good backup.
Wall Connector: 48A hardwired, ~30 mi/hr (needs a 60A circuit — on a 50A you’re at 25).
Universal Wall Connector: same 48A, built-in J1772. Worth the premium if a non-Tesla ever parks in your garage.if you are thinking of using your CT as a backup power source, you will need the UWC along with the Power Share.

I just took out my 14-50 and installed the WC for my Model Y and the UWC for the CT.

I would gladly send you the 14-50 plug if you need it. I have no use for it.

Don‘t overthink the charger situation.

I converted my unused 30A 220v dryer outlet in my garage for $10 so it’s compatible with the 220v Tesla male prongs.

We have used this setup since early 2021 for our Model Y and I use it to charge my new SAWD Cybertruck as well. This setup works perfectly for both of us.

I have both vehicles set to charge at a gentle 24amps. We get roughly 13 miles of range per hour when plugged in.

Do you know what the efficiency looks like for nema vs wall charger. I have read alot of the electricity doesn't make it to the battery on a mobile connector at 110v. Dont know if that is true on mobile @ 240v.

You’re onto something with the 110v thing, but I don’t think it’s the mobile connector’s fault.

The car uses a chunk of power just sitting there running its cooling and computers while it charges. On 110v you’re trickling in so little that most of it gets eaten up by that. On 240v you’re pushing way more in, so that same overhead barely matters.
So mobile on a 14-50 should be about the same as a wall connector. It’s the same cable path into the same charger in the car either way.
The wall connector’s real perk is just speed — 48 amps instead of 32. On the Cybertruck that’s about 30 mi/hr vs 20.
On the brand question, I think that’s about the outlet itself, not the cable. The cheap 14-50s aren’t made to sit at 32 amps for hours and they can overheat. Hubbell’s the one people usually point to.

I need to look what brand of 14-50 I have. I do remember I didn’t buy a cheap brand. Been using it since 2021.
