So what I'm thinking now is, doing Grand Canyon on the way to Oregon and Yellowstone on the way back to Tennessee.
Something like this, Home -> Grand Canyon -> Portland(stay awhile) -> Garibaldi(Oregon coast) -> Portland(stay awhile)-> Yellowstone -> Home.
There will obviously be other stops, but these are the main POI's.
Don't miss the grand canyon. Nothing like it in the US.

Don't skip Yellowstone. This could be your trip's hoghlight.

West Yellowstone is the best place to look. And this is nearest entry point to the national park.
I would recommend staying at West Yellowstone, MT. The park entrance is very close,
but try then to enter in the park earlier in the morning to avoid the waiting lanes at gate.

You will need stay about three days, one day for the south loop to see the geyser,
one day for the north loop to see the waterfall and some bisons, and another day
to visit the Grand Teton National Park and drive to Jackson, WY where there is
a Tesla Supercharger. And drive back to West Yellowstone using the hwy 22,
because speed is limited and traffic is slow inside the Yellowstone National Park.

There is a Tesla Supercharger in West Yellowstone and many restaurants,
in particular the Firehole, if you like Bar-B-Que but go there earlier.

Coming from Portland, I would recommend staying at Twinfall, WY.
There is a supertcharger next to the water fall, and I remember
having a good dinner at Jakers Bar and Grill.

Don't miss the spectacular waterfalls just 22 miles from Portland. You can do it in one day. Just leave early on the day. Lots of superchargers too in Portland and along the way.

Coming from Nashville, you can charge at the Flagstaff, AZ supercharger
and then use the east entrance of the Grand Canyon National Parlk.

The east entrance is the best because the west entrance is always crowded
with all the visitors coming from Las Vegas. And then you can charge at
the Tusayan, AZ supercharger on your way to Portland.

One or two days are sufficient to visit the Grand Canyon, unless you plan
doing some trekking. But try to see the sunrise and sunset, which are memorable.

Maybe a challenge on superchargers and campsites but North Rim is less congested and as beautiful as the South Rim of the Grand Canyon.

In this case, if on the North Rim, why not make a trip to Zion National Park and then to Death Valley.
Zion and all the Big 4. But not Death Valley breaking global heat records north of 130F. Don't want the cojones turning hard boiled just minutes our of CT's climate control interior. :p

Thank you for all the details, Thor. Because of your post I just purchased the two frunk bags because that is an awesome solution to pack clothes in plus any hygiene supplies. I also am going to back the kickstarter you suggested. Pumping cool or warm air from the cabin to the Cybertent is an optimum setup to stay comfortable.

Please let us know how that portable A/C unit works for you and your wife. Definitely some mixed reviews online, but if it actually works than it might be worth the money. I noticed that you can purchase a battery for it. Wonder how long that will last?

Enjoy the roadtrip!
So far I can tell you it cannot cool the tent at 95 degrees outside. I didn’t expect it to, but tried anyway. Should dip below 80 after 9pm, I’ll try it then.

Cool! Garibaldi has a nice port, hop the train to Rockaway.

I'll be there next month myself ^-^

Don’t really wanna fly because of all the Boeing stuff.
Media making hay where there is none: There aren't notably more maintenance incidents this year than the last decade.

Tho, any excuse to drive a Cybertruck... You can even say your carbon footprint is less ^-^

Copy, thanks for the update. I'm removing it from my Amazon wishlist.

Wouldn't just yet. It is actually cooling now. It does say it's operating temp isn't meant for that high heat. We wouldn't turn this on until the evening when the temp drops anyways, to pre-cool the tent before hitting the sack. It's running now and getting cooler, actually pushing out cold air now. It may actually end up doing the job. Going to give it another 30-60 min see what it gets the temp down to. Hell, even if it gets the temp down to something reasonable before midnight I'll still call this a win. 10 would be nice though.

It’ll do the trick if you need a solution before December. If you don’t need one before December, when the Campstream should ship, probably best to wait for it. But based on tonight’s test, it should work. Guess we’ll see how it performs on the trip.
