I've noticed a couple of showroom CT's with mud in crevices under body and in suspension parts as well as rocks and debris stuck in tire tread. Are these pre-production non sellable units as they are obviously not factory brand new?
These are brand new, Austin is just a giant construction site, trucks won't be sparkling clean as with a legacy automaker. I do believe the showroom models are final final units to be sold. Gaps and whatnot look great, as with any new truck off the line.. they should all have the same build quality.

they are factory brand new, and they are not RC units

FGTX is a giant construction area

that said, they are also still pre-production, as “production” does not begin until Job #1 of saleable retail units. That “production” may not begin still for months (not to say Tesla can’t sell *other* types of units).

These trucks were built specifically for showrooms, in the last couple of weeks

Not disagreeing and I thought about that but mud on one of them is caked into the lower control arm and the inside tire sidewalls look dirty up to the rim. I didn't expect mud and dirt to be flung into the underside like that as if done at speed and not just driving a new unit through a dirty parking lot. I do agree panels look great.
Well, humans vary, so the detailing received by each "DC" if I can coin the term Display Candidate :) will also vary.

Now that we've covered that, can the folks who have a local one get one good shot showing the seam between the hood and he windshield. About three to four feet back, height should be about 10 -12 inches higher than the seam.

And yes, I'm a picky bastard :)

Each unit is driven around the Austin site and has to go thru the suspension testing area which is on the other side of the factory. Pretty sure there are puddles and whatnot all over the place. Pretty sure no one would deny a delivery for some dirt on the undercarriage.

I think you misunderstood me. My point was that the showroom it's being displayed at should detail them before putting them on display. But humans being humans some details will be better than others.

Funny you should mention this not long after I posted that question. I came across this gentleman's video. And while I still shout would be nice, the screen cap of that moment in the frame works almost as good

Good. It took me a few minutes to locate your post so I could respond as I didn't recall where it was.
Also remember that you can use the keyboard keyhit of '.' and ',' to go back and forth frames. Or left and right arrows to jump 10 secs.

Tweet below note: "For those who are wondering - This is the gap between windshield and the “frunk” where rain water is allowed to drain on the Cybertruck"
[It doesn't look like a great solution to me in heavy rain at slow speeds.]

I suspect it's going to drain better than you think. People who live in the forest like me will have to be diligent about keeping leaf and pine needle debris from gathering though.

The first year that these are in custom hands will be very enlightening. You are right they certainly had designers that understood drainage but then again they came up with that wiper solution instead of it going down under the back edge of the hood like almost all vehicles. Haha, I just realized that the front wiper on the CT is like there rear wiper on most vehicles in how it stands out.

Good point about the forest debris as that will be my future situation as well.
