If you ordered and then took delivery of a FS Cybertruck with the understanding that part of the $20k upsell was powershare hardware and have since been offered a $700 one time use credit in the store, and feel like that was beyond slimy for Tesla to do.... Please DM me. I'm looking at putting together a list of owners that are unhappy with this arbitrary decision with no recourse. In theory, a certified letter demanding either the hardware or an enduring credit of equal value to the consumer (per my math at time of ordering it was about $2500 worth of hardware), maybe they would consider it. So far I have not gotten even a courtesy email reply saying they received my complaint. Yes, I'm using the email address from the agreement I signed.

Although I believe that your argument is founded, Tesla does everything through required arbitration, so you will likely have to go that route first, at least to show a good faith effort to resolve w/o invoking the 'legal system'. I have thought about these offers that Tesla makes and it seems as though what they are offering is their cost rather than our cost, and I think that the argument can be made that the compensation should be at our cost. Unfortunately 'Tesla' never elaborated on the value of any of these FS items; they just said that they come with the vehicle. It was people here that tried to enumerate the costs of the FS add ons, trying to come to grips with the extra $20K. Tesla could argue in arbitration/court that they promised those items and not that value. But then they would have to provide those items. Please keep the forum updated on how this plays out.

This seems like a reasonable request. I wish you luck. Even if it doesn't reach a class action, I think individuals would have success in arbitration.

Thanks. My 60 day resolution window started on 11 April. This thread is an attempt to gather a group of voices. Kind of outside the arbitration process, but more of an effort to make it known that we're unhappy with that offer. I'll still do the arbitration process starting June 10th should Tesla not provide a reasonable resolution by then.

The only one that wins big in a class action lawsuit are the attorneys.
Yup. Still not trying to go that route. But a large group of unhappy owners might get above the noise threshold and get some attention. I'm personally going through the resolution process, and will proceed to arbitration if required.

Having received two (2) $700 vouchers totaling $1,400, the hassle of getting another $1,100 isn’t worth it for me. Sorry. & GLWTS

Can anybody confirm if you do not go the PowerShare route and therefore do not need the gateway, do you still get the universal wall charger that it says the foundation series comes with?

in other words, is the outcome from that scenario

a) getting a $700 voucher as well as the universal charger
b) Or would you need to use the $700 to buy a charger if you are a first-time Tesla customer

of the latter, that does seem unfair, as any consumer that isn’t fanatically lurking forums to see what people are actually getting would expect to get a charger with their car either way. A regular consumer wouldn’t know that it’s somehow attached to the home power share component.

By accepting the offer in lieu of the original offer, you have agreed to the new offer. You should have pushed back before you accepted it.

This is a joke.

A. Sort of. My truck had a Mobile Connector ($250 value) in the storage locker of the bed of the truck when I took delivery.

There are three different "chargers" for sale today, and there have been many others in the past.

Per my own math at the time of the order, IIRC, the gateway was $1800 and the universal wall connector was $700. That's $2500. Minus $700 means we were shorted $1800, per order. You're out $3600 in my book.

Arbitration filing costs the consumer $225. If the business goes forward, costs start at about $2275 ($375 filing, $1400 case management, $500 hearing) in fees. It would be incredibly dumb for Tesla to let this get to arbitration, especially when it's pretty cut and dry in favor of the consumer.
