UPDATE - My situation just got worse, thanks to Tesla Service in Dallas. They told me somehow this suspension failure was not a warranty issue but it was my fault for driving the vehicle after the air leaked out of the system on the drivers side rear wheel. They ignored the fact that the air leaked out of their system and blamed me for continuing to drive after the air system failure. They want to charge me $1560 for diagnosis and a new air shock calling it not covered under the 4 year warranty. Now, nothing in the car told me it was dangerous to drive or that I would cause further damage or I would have stopped it and had it towed. On top of this, the Service Manager threatened to have my loaner locked out if I didn't approve the estimate in the next day. Keep in mind I just turned it in yesterday. This is the most rude and disrespectful treatment I have ever received from any company. No negotiation, no ownership of the original issue which led to the further damage. I always support Tesla and I am proud to brag about how much I love their products, but I have lost all of that now with this experience. I feel stupid for trusting them to support their products and I will think twice before making a huge purchase like this in the future. #Disappointed

I can’t believe they treated you like that. I’ve had my truck in three times for suspension issues in Glendale AZ. They finally got it fixed and they gave me loaner each time. You need to speak to someone higher up.

Yeah I am not excited. Likely going to want me to remove my rocker panel sliders. No alerts.

Thank you for the response.
You need to escalate your concerns. This is total BS.
I spoke to the Service Manager who was so rude and threatening. Who is higher than him in the facility? I am not sure. Thank you all for the responses.

Warranties can be voided by improper maintenance or abnormal use. I'm presuming that this SC is trying to claim one or the other with respect to the strut.

They may have a point if the leaking air strut was repairable, but is no longer due to being driven. However, it seems to me that a leaking strut is simply replaced regardless.

To me, this does not pass the "reasonableness" test. For example, if a defect is making my Honda leak oil, that's covered. But if I keep driving until all the oil is gone and the engine blows up, that is negligent on my part.

So, is it reasonable to expect someone to stop driving with a failed air strut? Without any such warnings from the computer, I would not have expected such an outcome. A dead strut/shock will certainly impair handling and performance, but causing further damage is surprising to me.

There was no error message that the strut failed. The error was "Air compressor temperature above operating limit. Raising suspension is currently unavailable." This happened after the system continuously tries to reach the level set point. Never says anything about strut failure or do not drive.
How much did I drive. I drove home from the hospital which was 4 miles and then 15 miles to the Tesla service center; All on city streets.
Even if I was partially responsible after the failure for driving it and not knowing it was that serious of a problem, they take no ownership of the root cause of the problem, they take no ownership of informing me of the failure, etc. If the shock did not fail, my driving it would not have caused any further damage. I would be willing to share some costs even thought I disagree but they do not take any ownership of any of the event which is my problem with them.

Wow. Yeah, bastards for treating you like that. You bought their high end vehicle and get treated like dirt.

That's ridiculous.

I *think* there's a regional service manager that you can escalate to?

I know for the New England district, there's a regional service manager (who happens to own a Cybertruck). I've met him and he's a super great guy. Hopefully, there's someone like him in the Dallas area.

Thanks for the advice. They would not share the name of the Regional Manager but they told me the Dallas Service Manager is a temporary person because they lost the original to another company. They told me they have many complaints about him and that they would share this complaint with the Regional person. Who knows if this happened because I received no communication from the person. They tried to say that I hit a "big impact" which caused all of the mount points to break. This was why the air shock was leaking. But then, they replaced it and found another leak when test driving it afterward. They found the galley pressure exhausting and the valve block not to be exhausting correctly and found water in the line going to the air shock. Once they replaced the valve block, the system held pressure and worked correctly. This was the REAL root cause of the problem. The air shock failing was just what happened after the valve body became defective. I will take this to arbitration and then to small claims court. It is not really about the money, it about the lack of responsibility for their warranty commitments. I have never had such a piss poor treatment after buying a brand new vehicle with a problem originating with Tesla or any other dealer for that matter. .

Anyone experienced ā€œair suspension unable to raiseā€ error? Mine was so persistent that the back tires would slant the truck as if in deflate mode.
Had the bumpiest ride back home last weekend & took it straight to service on Sunday. The truck drove like an old pickup driving over a third-world bumpy road.

Almost a week in & still in diagnosis stage ? Tesla projects 2 week repair, possibly more.

Should I wait it out or has anyone installed 3rd party parts to help with this?

I had a similar issue. It took three times to get it fixed. It worked fine now. They never had it more than a few days and gave me a loaner each time. It was worth the hassle. Best truck I’ve owned.

Sorry to hear the frustrating experience you're having. But thanks for posting the root cause of the issue. Will be helpful for any other owners who encounter this issue.

@Wilgo are you using the one on Cedar Springs? If so I’ve also had a terrible experience with them (story for another time). If you can, use the one on Lexington in Plano. They’re a night and day difference from Cedar Springs. Or there’s that new one now in Flower Mound, haven’t been there yet.
