I think I'll order a Beast when my number comes up (112836XXX) just to delay things so that I can get better batteries. This should give the CB more range than the current AWD, so that takes away the disadvantage of CB (except price).

...assuming that they will put the improved cells in the CB first. That would make sense, wouldn't it?

So, the claim of 2.6 seconds should be achievable. If 2.6 sec cannot be reproduced, then it is truly false advertising. From my limited understanding, a rollout for 0-60 is standard in North America and the true times are always including this rollout. A 911 turbo S is going to have the same rollout as the Cyberbeast, so that point becomes moot.

Maybe I didn’t make the point correctly. The point I was making was you can have two different numbers based on how you look at the comparison. I make no comment on anything else. Hardly moot.

And my point is, if you are operating at 90% max power, you are more likely to have problems than when running at 60% power or less. The context of the discussion was about why the CB time of 2.6s 0-60 was anything worth consideration. However, I have never claimed, assumed, stated, hinted, intimated, insinuated, implied, suggested, or otherwise inferred that BEVs “can’t ever overheat”.

And as for cooling problems, you probably haven’t see the pass in the summer (100+ degree temps) ICE vehicles (some not even towing) have to shut off their A/C to prevent overheating. And there are plenty of anemic ICE vehicles that can’t change lanes and accelerate enough to pass. Semis line up in the right lane and some can’t sustain a speed or 50% of the speed limit (65). And RVs are little more than rolling obstructions. I have rented a MYLR in the summer with 3 large (2x240# and 1x325#) guys and a week’s worth of stuff and absolutely sailed up the pass (doing at least uhhhh, 67), with the A/C on, and the car not even breaking a sweat. Come to think of it, neither were we!

It’s one of the many reasons I am moving to a BEV. And if you look for videos of the Tesla Semi towing up a grade vs. a diesel, it’s obvious this is a far better option.

Thanks. But that's for Model S. Where does it say that for Cyberbeast vs. AWD? It's being repeatedly stated as fact on these forums [that Cyberbeast and AWD are using different test metrics/reporting], so I want to make sure it's true and accurate.

That only states that the 0-60 time being shown is for the Cyberbeast, and that the rollout was subtracted.

It does not state that the 0-60 time for AWD doesn't have rollout subtracted.

Again, where does it say that they're using different methods for Cybertruck AWD vs. Cyberbeast? Seriously.

do you not understand why there is an asterisk next to the cyberbeast 0-60 and not the AWD? That means they hid the fine print at the bottom which says "with rollout subtracted". Why would they all of a sudden change their long-standing practice of these shenanigans
