Will feathers still work right if they have a ceramic coating? I wonder what kind of additional weight that would be for the poor bird.

Pretty sure all waxes have a degree of wax buildup, eventually. Not a fan. Others like lacquer thinner. It's clean, but a bit harsh of a chemical. What's next, Aqua Regia? I like the KISS policy. Cold water only.
Wax slowly erodes away. In the real world, it goes away more quickly than people replenish it. UV rays, washing, etc. No, a quality wax will not buildup over time unless you apply it over religiously (like twice a week or something) and, even then, it will not "bake white". If against all odds, you manage to apply it too often, a simple wash with detergent will strip it right off.

I wasn't saying you should be a fan of it, just that it doesn't "bake white in the sun" when applied to stainless. That is not the case unless you are using something other than wax. I recommend avoiding waxes with integrated cleaners and polishers because those do embed in the wax and look bad. There are also polymers marketed as "car wax" that will give poor results. A quality wax without cleaners and polishers will not do that. I find it's ability to repel dust in the dry months and to shed dirty water in the wet months to be worth rubbing on occasionally to keep it looking good. It will still get dirty (I think the Cybertruck looks best a little dirty) but it will look better, and it will hose mostly clean a lot easier.

We need those for the hailstorms. Although, I will fear nothing in my bulletproof CT! (unless it's raining steel ball bearings)

I was researching this yesterday and there was a detailer in San Diego that tested products often mentioned for cleaning the CT. He also had a ceramic coating video and I have the say the results were stunning in the video. I may drive down there but it's a little far unless he can do it in a day. I have no affiliation with him or any product.
