What causes a stain like this on stainless steel

Looks like bird poop. There's a chance BKF can still work, try getting the area wet, applying it, spreading then waiting a couple mins before scrubbing then rinsing. That's what I do on my pans when I get some real discoloration.

lol I don't think it is as acidic as bird poop so you likely will be ok having your pooch drool out the window.

Bar Keepers has a chemical reaction with the stainless. Apply and scrub. Wait a while and do it again until the stain has been "polished out".

As said above, this method cleans a stainless pan that has burned badly and is ready for the trash can.

My old stainless pans look amazing. So does my fridge! Waiting on my Cybertruck so no experience with Tesla stainless.

Don't forget the Windex!

Just an update, getting close to a year owning the Cybertruck. I took it to serve for 5 recalls and they said they would fix the bird poop stain.

The attachment photo is how it looks after it was “fixed” by the service department. In retrospect, I’m sorry I permitted them to attempt it. I feel the same way regarding the recall fixes. I wasn’t experiencing any issues relative to any of the recalls. The truck was returned in worse condition than they received it, with some of the plastic still not snapped back correctly.

Try denatured alcohol, mine used to have that flat dark earth tone/gold look when i took delivery then i used BFK and windex amonia free then DA
