Yeah, looks like a current 26 model year is gonna be the only option. Just don’t know what they fixed or updated in the current model year versus 25.
Tesla makes changes between production batches, not necessarily model years like legacy auto manufacturers. There could be changes between the beginning and end of the same model year, but none between the end of one year and the beginning of another. The model year can affect resale value, taxes, and insurance however.

I waited for a '25 because I expected the first year to have more bugs than the second, and I wanted that in case I resell it before I die. YMMV.

Yep. I hope they blackball ya. Good luck. Which service center did you say?

I'll figure it out. Just using the "system" to get yourself a new truck. Posted no issues. Just hey I am a lawyer. I want an FSD transfer. I hope they tell you to pound sand.

thank you this is helpful for me to understand this. This is my first Tesla. I’m just disappointed, the quality control and the numerous issues that I’ve had necessitating a buyback.

Sorry to hear that. My '25 has been great and most (if not all) buybacks that I've heard of have been '24s. It's luck of the draw and the Cybertruck is still a young platform. I hope Tesla does what they need to to make you a happy customer.

Thank you, man, I really appreciate that! I love my cyber truck. That’s why I’m not doing a buyback, if anything it’ll be a replacement. This whole thread was started by me just to see if there were any material differences between the 25 and 26 model years. I’ve been tracking the PCS issue closely and it seems like other than the normal squeaks and rattles. That’s the only major thing that’s been occurring.

But I’m optimistic. They will do the right thing and transfer my one year complementary supercharging to the replacement. Because I will definitely push on that.

Confused here. I looked at this thread. What are the issues causing the buyback?

A deep dent from the factory driver side quarter panel.

Numerous rattles and squeaks with the center console and rear screen, assess the whole thing to be swapped out after three or four times to replace apart here there.

The pillar rattles and squeaks

Front hood latch not closing properly and not opening sometimes.

Glass on one of the windows came scratch from the factory. Replacement the same thing.

Driver seat has been replaced three times due to motor issues, squeaks and rattles

Total days out of service exceeded 35 days. And I have camera issues showing Assistance degraded to this day.

Do you own any other Tesla's?

I would suggest this be your last. In the nicest way you seem wanting to have your cake and eat it too. As a second time around Tesla owner. There are issues. You seem to want to always have the best. Maybe it isn't your cup of tea.

Not sure what you mean by wanting my cake and eating it too. If I pay 80 K for a car, I don’t want it to have rattle squeaks and a bunch of other stuff wrong with it. Maybe our standards are just different.

and clearly, Tesla agreed hence the lack of pushback on the buyback.

You want a new truck like you purchased it new again. Just strange. Why do you love the brand if it has been so wrong?

My comment about first Tesla kind of should be telling. Likely you might experience the same thing with the type of person that looks at each and every item as a reason to be litigious.

Our CT had many of similar issues. Yet I didn't choose your path. Solved them. Moved on. I am hours and hours from a service center.

You don’t know the first thing about me. So I’m just not even gonna bother responding to your comment about me being litigious.
However, I do believe in consumers rights and I do believe that people have what’s called a consumer expectation test. And that’s just not my belief. It’s actually product liability and consumer law standard, So that large corporations don’t take advantage of consumers with faulty products.

Just because I choose to defend my rights does not make me litigious. It just makes me an informed consumer and not a sheep to any given brand.

My CT has been in the shop for over 3 months for similar issues ( even deep dent but on the passenger side quarter panel).

Yeah, I didn’t think I was the only one. Based on what the Service Director told me it’s just quality control misses on a lot of of the panels, particularly the fender and the rear sails. Shame.
