I am new to Tesla vehicles, I had a RAM 1500 Laramie previously. The wireless charging in my RAM was hit or miss with my Pixel 6 Pro and did not keep up with my usage in my truck. What I mean by that is I used Android Auto Wireless, Phone Bluetooth, UConnect, Google Maps, and Spotify all while driving. Now that I have my CT, I am not using Android Auto, UConnect, Google Maps or Spotify from my phone. All of those capabilities are built into the CT using Premium communications. I believe my phone is simply being used for Handsfree Bluetooth and as a Key for the CT. What is odd is my phone is pretty warm and on a long drive, I find it actually loses a 1% to 2%. I am not on my phone during most of those drives because my wife is with me. I do see the charging icon, so I know it is working. I am at a loss why I would not be fully charging. Even in my RAM occassionally if I was not on the phone, it would fully charge my phone despite the navigation and spotify. On a completely different note, my wife has the same exact phone and hers won't charge but for a few seconds in the driver's or passenger's side. Both of our phones use wireless charging at night on our night stands and during the day on our office desks with no issues.

Any ideas what could be going on?

What happens when it is charging at home? Does it get warm?
Try shutting your phone down (not restarting) and then turning back on, any difference?
What is displayed when the phone is charging, should be an indication of what type of charging is occuring.
Take a look at the battery (under settings) and see if can determine what it using your battery.

And you may want to not leave the phones on docks all the time.

At home it does not get that warm on the stand. I do expect it to get warm as it is wireless. My Ram truck use to make it so hot it would shutdown. The part that is confusing is what is taxing it so much if all it is using is bluetooth connection and I am not even on the phone. I will look at the battery usage apps after I drive it this afternoon. I charged it on my desktop wireless stand to a 100%, so it will tell me what apps used the charge since the last 100% charge. I am just wondering if anyone else is not getting more charge than battery being used.

Tesla's wireless chargers are garbage. I use the MagBak charger that attaches to the screen in our other Tesla's, and have the one for the CT in the box waiting for delivery this week

I’m wondering if the heat levels are worsened by how much heat comes through the windshield. I’d be interested to know if anyone that has a ceramic tint (heat rejection) on their windshield also has this issue.

No, it's not the heat through the windshield.

FYI, all vehicles have windshiellds.

Maybe you are talking about the roof? Other vehicles have sunroofs.

But most people are talking about when the cooling system is on and cooling the tuck.

Is it indicating that it is charging when in the truck?

Bluetooth connections will exist when in proximity to the truck. This is the way that Bluetooth works with phones. It's not BLE, which is used for other things.

In my experience, induction chargers that make phones super hot are either 1) defective or 2) garbage quality. I will say though, overall, wireless charging is still a bit unrefined.

I would notify the service center about the issue and see what they say.

Appreciate the response - I am aware all vehicles have windshields. It is well known that Cybertruck allows in more heat than a normal vehicle due to the size of the front windshield. Wondering if this is a factor, because other Tesla vehicles have the wireless charging below the screen out of direct sunlight and they do not suffer the same issue.

I have an Android phone (Samsung Galaxy S8+), on the Cybertuck's wireless charger it charges fast without over-heating. I don't generally charge my phone to 100% to maximize battery longevity so I generally leave it in my pocket so it doesn't get charged too fast.

I have no idea why Apple people are having issues with wireless charging unless it's because Apple doesn't follow the same wireless charging standard that Tesla adheres to. I do know that Apple is relatively new to the wireless charging game.

Not all chargers are the same.. this ‘tech’ currently is almost worthless from all providers..

I remember the day when it worked well..
