Bottom line? Tesla didn't de-content the $80k Cybertruck as many had predicted. Apparently you still get the killer sound system, heated/ventilated seats, awesome rolling tonneau cover, LED piping in the interior, tow receiver, etc.

Personally I consider myself lucky to not have had any problems with my truck for having gotten it so early. I found it exciting to explore the new technology with all of you and it still excites me to wait for the "next update" and see how everyone reacts to it. Getting the Foundation series was worth it to me just for these reasons alone. Buying the truck as a whole was a leap of faith for all of us but especially for the Foundation series crowd as nobody knew what to expect. I'm pleased to say that the truck has exceeded my expectations and if I could do it over I would do it again the same way. Early adoption is a risk for sure but its also exciting! I had gotten my Hummer EV super early as well and was exciting to be the first (I got mine shortly after Ashton Kutcher got his) but was really waiting for Cybertruck.
Now I'm waiting for my Optimus robot. I'll ride around with em' in my truck kinda like the ultimate trunk monkey. I'll take em' to the bar and teach em' how to shoot pool and win free drinks. When I'm rock crawling, he can be my spotter. I'll teach em' how to use nunchucks for personal defense. Wait just a minute... Nunchucks are for sissies, we're talking about a robot here... SWORDchucks!

How do you think the Cybertruck compares to the Hummer EV as far as how they drive, how the overall experience is?

Not anymore.. just sold my recent a few months ago.. but I do recall using the anchors towards the corners of the bed walls rather than the floor. At the time very few trucks had them actually in the floor. L-track is quite accessible also.

there are many ways to anchor a bike still in the CT…

I take it you don't own motorcycles?

This is the point, but also weird; why would Tesla look at the truck and think, hmmm, let's get rid of the bed rings?! They're well known for just s/w disabling features to add perceived value to the higher models. Just seems like bed rings are a really odd choice.

How do you think the Cybertruck compares to the Hummer EV as far as how they drive, how the overall experience is?

1) I ABSOLUTELY LOVED driving around in the summer with the T-tops off in the Hummer. However, they leak and creak the rest of the time, not horrible but it is a compromise. GM offered to fix the leak and maybe they are built better now.

2) Both trucks are the best riding trucks (dare I say vehicles) that I've ever ridden in. The Hummer handles very well considering how much it weighs, however, it will remind you how heavy it is anytime you have to grab a leg full of brakes. The Cybertruck FEELS lighter and more nimble because IT IS lighter and more nimble.

3) Neither truck have confidence inspiring brakes but the Cybertruck can stop faster (albeit with more pedal effort).

4) The Cybertruck is definitely quicker and has a higher top speed. This is HUGE for me as nothing says, "Bad Ass" more than that.

5) The steering of the Cybertruck just totally blows every other vehicle I've ever driven out of the water!

6) I love the stainless rock sliders on the Hummer as it makes getting in easier and they are very SOLID!

7) I did NOT like that there are studs sticking down through the underbelly of the Hummer waiting to get caught/busted off on stuff.

8) I LOVE that I don't get bugs splattered all over the windshield of the Cybertruck where the Hummer gets it's own, little bug graveyard that you have to look through. Bird droppings are a different story (I live in Seagull Shitville. In fact, I'm the MAYOR of Seagull Shitville).

9) I always worried about leaving the Hummer in the parking lot, the Cybertruck not so much (even though the Cybertruck gets WAY more attention).

10) PARTS! Parts for the Hummer are CRAZY (like $3500 for a tail light assembly).

11) I liked the visibility from inside the Hummer much better than the Cybertruck.

12) Infotainment system in the Cybertruck beats the Hummer hands down (although there were some cool features I liked about the Hummer that Cybertruck doesn't have).

13) Hummer has a kick-ass rear view mirror. Cybertruck needs a mirror like that WAY more than the Hummer does and yet, hmmm....

14) Hummer has the camera view from above which I loved, Cybertruck does not. Hummer also has cameras to see under the truck front and back with little built in washers. That kicks ass. Cybertruck has Sentry mode though and that rocks!

15) Both trucks have kick ASS sound systems. I think Cybertruck's is a little better.

16) Hummer I think is a little classier where as the Cybertruck is more about satisfying my inner child.

17) Cybertruck gets a whole lot more negative reactions from people (but a lot more positive ones too).


These are some of the major things from my experience and opinions. Overall I like the Cybertruck better.

Yeah but the best is to the floor...like how true bike trailers have them. Floor tie downs hold the bike much more stable.

At the risk of sounding douchy, that assumes one qualifies for the incentive personally, in addition to the vehicle making the cut. The tax incentive is a moot point for a segment of folks in the maker for a CT. I Do hope the dual motor meets the requirements so those that can to be able to get it.

I am a single income household, and there are millions just like me lol. No shortage of people eligible for it.

LOL...dude... read what I said. You quoted me fully incorrectly. True BIKE TRAILERS... not true bikers. Go get your coffee this morning. It's physics, dude. Lateral tiedowns don't work as well, especially on off-road conditions that have bumps. This tells me you haven't put anything but your kids' tricycle in your trucks ? Go look at a "true bike trailer". They have floor tie downs for a reason!

Yes... you are right... a little extra and those floor tiedowns can be put in your truck instead of buying a trailer. Wasn't that the whole point of this exchange??

Let me repeat your initial comment:

Not a deal breaker with removing the d-rings in the bed floor.. hopefully the L-track remains.

It IS a deal breaker if you carry more than one dirt bike or a big cruiser bike like a Harley or Indian.
