I opted to install the gateway and universal charger. It works great to get me 11.5 kwh and I do like seeing the flow of energy graphs from the grid. Based on my regular use I should be able to get days powering from my Cybertruck even with two HVACs.

My question being a first EV owner is if it is worse to charge my truck to 80% everyday or if I should let it go down below 50% or whatever x%? I would prefer to just charge it everyday just in case I need to drive a long distance unexpectedly or if there is a power outage. I believe eventually there will be a software update to the Gateway to auto charge to 100% when there is a extreme weather forecasted. That would be a great option to turn on and off.

I appreciate any advice on charging habits.

Technically, 50% has less degradation than 80%, but you'ld likely never be able to tell the difference. Set the limit to 80% and enjoy your vehicle.

What I do - 80% daily, always plugged in, and when i store for longer periods without use (I don't drive my M3P in winter as I have better vehicles for snow - aka non perf tires, not lowered, etc) drop it down to 30-50%, always plugged in.

Periodically I'll "1 time" adjust to 85-95% if I know I'll need it the following day. 100% for road trips, but I don't let it sit for long at 100% - few hours max.
