I took delivery last Friday and they specifically told me to only charge over 80% for longer trips. So, I'm not sure if my Tesla rep didn't know certain facts about the batteries, or what the deal is, but unless there is an official note on this I'm sticking with the 80% daily charging.

As an update, after watching an Engineering Explained segment on charging on YouTube, I now charge to 60% at the house for my daily drives. I charge to 95% at the house when traveling more than 250 miles. i highly recommend watching that Youtube video.

Don't know the significant differences between the CT and my wife's 2018 M3 Long Range....but we always keep her vehicle at 80% for daily driving and charge to 100% for a road trip.

We do too, but research seems unequivocal that charging to 65% produces a better lifetime. The problem we all have is that no one knows the longevity of the 4680 cell pack. If it gets 500K miles at 80% then it probably doesn’t matter.
