In my experience, Tesla is very good about covering things like this if it's due to a manufacturing defect and not an impact.

Have you contacted Tesla Service yet?
I got an appointment in three weeks :(

I had a weird fracture on the interior of the front windshield on my first CT. The SC replaced it. But they broke the ceiling glass during the replacement. And then they misaligned the replacement front windshield and had to replace it a second time because the ceiling shifter would not connect as the windshield glass was installed too low.

And then the headliner had constant wind, rattle, and road noise from crushed installation brackets and grommets and non-craftsman-like re-installation.

So I sold it to Texas Auto Value and got one with free Supercharging. No real problems with this one in over 10,000 miles. But it is staying out of the service center if I can help it.

Looks very possible to me considering lots of other similar instances.

Too bad this can't be a place for owners to support other owners.
Find one other remotely similar incident. I’ll wait here.

I do support other owners, and I apologized after seeing further evidence, but we always have to keep a watchful eye out for FUD in this day and age.

That’s crazy and I’d hope Tesla would replace it for you, no charge. Let us know how it goes!

Yup - happened to me shortly after getting my Cybertruck. There was no mark on the outside whatsoever - it was on the inside of the glass. Tesla inspected it and agreed it was not caused by a rock and was instead a failure of the glass. They replaced it under warranty and did a great job. No issues in the 6 months since. They don't have a glass person on staff at my location so they flew someone in to do the job.

It's all smooth on the outside. It just shattered when I pulled it out of the garage.
Identical to mine - couldn't feel it at all on the outside. I drove with it like that for 2 weeks until Tesla was able to replace it under warranty. I kept waiting for the glass to blow into the cabin with the wind pressure at speed but it was fine. Tesla was great about it all.

Mother F. It was probably a rock or a lug nut off the road. Just went through this with my insurance on another vehicle. Make sure you get auto glass coverage on your policy. It won’t cover OEM glass but will pay for after market you will have to pay the difference. It will still be less than the $2500+ for Tesla glass. Maybe Tesla will warranty it 🤞🏽

If it's like my similar incident, there was no pitting or other indication of outside impact and the radial cracks could be felt on the inside but not on the outside. Tesla diagnosed it as a failure of the glass, and replaced it under warranty.
