Same thing happened to me as well… after I pulled over in small print it suggested I get out of the car and then try driving again.

It got me home and to the shop … mine sits at Tesla waiting for parts. Not sure what parts tho.

2084 miles on it. Not sure what part of my vin to share.

Funny you say you expect it on your 2013 S; I got that message on my 2015 S flying through Ohio in April. Really hot day, had the AC blasting, knew I only had a few more miles to supercharger and was arriving with 3%, so pushed my speed higher.
That's just silly. Who pushes their speed higher when it says you will be showing up with 3% SOC? It makes zero sense. You are supposed to slow down, not speed up. ?

Happy for y'all. Plano Texas made me walk across the street twice and figure out which truck was mine ?. Fat and happy syndrome here so no need to go above and beyond for anyone.

Same thing happened to me this afternoon. Mileage 1978. Wouldn’t go away on reset on wheel or walk away. Set up roadside to take it to service center (90 minute wait quoted). 10 mins in while sitting waiting in the vehicle it shut down and when I woke it up it was resolved. Canceled roadside recovery and booked in tomorrow to service center - I will drive in to have it checked. Today was the first critical/rear wheel thing limited to 3mph But the 3rd time getting low voltage issue -which this time immediately preceded the critical rear wheel steering issue.

Who does that? I do! After I got comfortable with my S, I often arrived with single digits of range remaining (e.g., 3 to 6 miles (not %)) when I knew the route to the supercharger and wanted the fastest charging curve to shorten long trips. I loved taking that car on long trips!

But I absolutely followed your expected approach when I knew I would have to go negative once early on in the car's life (before the Model S range fiasco); that was unintentional from a meeting running over and the temperature was in the teens. That whole trip was slow with intense drafting and gentle; I didn't need heat cause I had adrenaline!
