That's fair I wasn't even considering the trade-offs! I just wanted to sleep w/ HVAC and a pop up tent over the bed :D
I would imagine something like this could be easily fabricated out of plastic and a bit more insulation and a tad more styling for a very reasonable cost should a mid-gate not appear.

Use both rear passenger side windows with a pair of 12v fans doing a push and pull setup into the tent area.

Problem solved:

That panel on the bottom would prevent a wheel. Notice the opening on the other side. Also look at the cab it is very level across the top. But for some reason a foot of it extends below passenger side cast
Are you questioning the legitimacy of the truck image?

the wheels don’t really sit in the well, they’re protruding outward I think. Look at a rear elevation of prototypes.

she’s wide.

Is that Tom taking charge of production? If this is the stage that there at with the truck. I'm guessing maybe in the next 12 to 18 months they will be ready for start of production.

Telling ya...that roofline is wrong. the later prototypes had the roofline moved back at least 6 inches to create an overhang, and the glass also extended further back. This image shows the bed top meeting right up with back of the cab like on the original prototype.

I'm, also, disappointed regarding there not being a midgate. From the photo it really looks like a fixed panel separating the cab from the rear. Even the rear cab window looks narrow vertically - so, narrow that if it can be lowered I'm not certain my dog could jump from cab to bed (as he currently does through the rear window of my chevy). But, if that rear window can be lowered for air to pass through I can deal with it. The camping convenience factor will be reduced - but, it'll still be an awesome truck.

You can see the wheel wells, then the rear casting above them and extending farther back -- that casting will support the bed.
Right. Sadly, I was referring to exoskeleton front and rear parts and only later realized that there is no exoskeleton at all in these photographs.

I never anticipated either one of those things. Personally I think a midgate is a terrible idea for a truck used for work.
I don't need a truck for work. I want a truck for daily driving and camping. Midgate would be sick

Betting no.

that’s the same wrap we saw roll in there a month ago on the bodies, sitting behind. Kinda looks like it anyway.
The thing is, when those bodies came in, didn’t everyone think they were exoskeletons? These are internal pieces.
