Sorry but that isn’t going to happen. I would recommend reading @cvalue13 recent post but if you believe nothing else the fact that no application for an event has been submitted to Travis County or to the fire Marshall, and that they have as 45 day lead time, tells us that the delivery event wil most likely be no sooner than the end of October and more likely in November. Sad but true.
If I remember the post, or others about that same subject, it was said that the permit is only required for 5,000 attendees or some large number. If they are limiting the number of people that will attend (through the use of 30,000 pt tickets), then maybe a permit is not required and then we don't get the early warning...

sorry if I've not been following the thread close enough to miss the point

but it *seems* like there's a confusion baked in between various replies

Seems like there are some folks saying the event could still be in September, to make good on Musk's April comments. With ~15 days left to go in September, people having 'purchased' tickets, and Tesla having not yet started to build manufacturing confirmation units that would be used in such an event, etc. - seems no way that's true as a practical matter.

As for whether it could be ~end of October, as a practical matter that still seems entirely possible.

What it would require to meet end of October date:

  • architecting an event that does not require a Travis County 'mass gathering' permit** (or it's already been submitted, and the Commissioner's Court will be adjudicating it this coming Tuesday's voting session)

  • Tesla starts building manufacturing confirmation units to be used in such an insider delivery event, and finds them to be coming together as expected

  • Tesla announces the date of the event enough in advance that it gives reasonable time for attendees to arrange travel/accomodation

**what type of permit, needing submitting by when, etc., depends on various variable RE size of event, duration of event, age of attendees, whether food and/or alcohol will be made available, etc.

Sorry to be a wet blanket, but I do think this is wishful thinking.

The normal way is to do a "soft roll-out" to employees, and then a few months later start delivering to actual customers. So if deliveries start next month I would expect customers to start seeing them early next year,
If we're being real wet blankets we won't see any CT this year. Next month is wishful thinking

At best, this sort of employee would know that there is an internal *aspiration*/*target* for an October delivery event.

That much seems uncontroversial.

This has varied from vehicle to vehicle. They have not always scheduled the event after employees got deliveries. The Model Y and and Plaid had the event first. The Giga Texas Model Y event was employees only.

This is a good point. The delivery event has always been pretty small, comparatively.

Also, like with any other permit, you can pay a fee to expedite.
that may be true, but none of the Travis County mass gathering permit application, procedure, or guideline materials contemplate any method for expedited decision.

if there is no expedited procedure, then one would be left instead to architect the event parameters around not needing a permit.

which for a delivery event, wouldn't be too hard (unlike, say, the TXGF opening night party)

Thanks, Mr./Ms. Leaker Employee, but I'll wait to hear it from Elon before allowing my Jimmies to be rustled.

This has been a long wait.

Everyone thinking Elon can't get a simple permit done faster than 'normal' people is hilarious. I'm not saying the Cybertruck will be released this month, but don't think for a second that Elon Musk, one of the richest and most powerful people in the world, can't get a simple city permit for an event in the blink of an eye. As for the video of the guy filming a Cybertruck, like many other people have done in the past, except he said that the Tesla guy told him this and blah blah blah, it means nothing. No one knows when the event will be, but I'm pretty sure Elon can have it all set up at a moment's notice with zero issues.

Giga Texas is about a third of a way constructing a "new car delivery" building, complete with a roof. They'll be finishing that, and the new road that comes off of river road, then when you start to see new CT's being driven into said new building.

That'll be your sign.

sounds more like you're not familiar with county event permitting

Pending validation Tesla may start delivering late this month to employees and have the official price and spec reveal in October/November. Unless you are in the top 1000 or so, it is all about the ramp up anyway.
