Vin 7601, wiper never worked from delivery. I didn’t even try it at the time because I was so excited to get it. Took it to service and they gave me a well used MX as a loaner, and claim it will be done in a week. Compared to the CT, the MX seems lame, partly because the CT made me feel a rockstar in my small town

My wiper is hilarious, has a mind of its own when in Auto Wiper Mode and the blade is damaged from the factory so the only place it DOESNT wipe is right infront of me ??

Service appointment is scheduled ?

You say it's a safety issue? I will pray that no harm comes to me! :ROFLMAO:
Yes not being able to see out your windshield is a safety issue ?
I picked up on Tuesday in Florida and left and made it 20 miles and it started pouring raining. Had to sit in a Dunkin Donuts for 3.5 hours and call Tesla roadside assistance because i couldn’t see. They took it to the SC and said it would be a few weeks before the wiper motor could be replaced. Once the rain passed, i took the CT and added some Rainx for now. But it was super dangerous…had to open my window and hang out the window to see until i could get to a safe place with the wiper not working.

One day, Tesla will finally be able to do what cars have been able to do for decades.... Have functioning windshield wipers, and get this - automatic wipers that actually work.

For a company that claims to be a "tech" company and not a car company (that's hilarious to me) they certainly have trouble with basic tech shit like windshield wipers and accurate parking sensors.

As many of the cars can literally drive without any driver intervention at all (just enter a destination)… but ya they suck at tech…
To be fair, i don’t care for their auto wipers, but out of all my cars, I have never had auto wipers be good.

Very sad, first the $5 accelerators with a $1 rivet fix, now this? Come on Tesla these components that are failing could be seen as the most used items on any vehicle and require the most durability! Tesla sure seems to have cut corners with the four years of innovation we waited?! Sure hope that $20k increase in price went into something that lasts.
Very sad, Ford cut corners on their batteries and had to replace many of them.

Aren't wipers a "car" thing rather than a "tech" thing?

Yeah - it's a car thing, but requires the most basic tech that other companies use to function. Literally the most basic tech is what Tesla seems to be worse at.

Hmmmm. Took delivery yesterday VIN:016xxx. Just tried the wiper a couple times with no issues, but will watch it. I wonder if that is why I got notice to take delivery a day early? Was originally scheduled for today @ 3pm. In Knoxville

Your comments seem a bit harsh to the point that it does not sound like you like your cyberbeast and if i am wrong would love to see your list of likes of your cyberbeast.

I love my CT, it's my 6th Tesla. I've owned one of the first Model S in 2012.

I'm just a realist and don't sugar coat things. I am not a Tesla or Elon fanboy although I love Tesla, which is why I have a Model Y Performance and a Cyberbeast

Read my comments in my profile. I love my truck. But Tesla gets too much of a pass for screwing up and being terrible at things that they should have figured out YEARS ago. People need to stop being complacent and making excuses for Tesla at this point, they are no longer a new car company... And have had years to correct simple problems.

Yes, batteries are tech, but things like the accelerators pedal and wind shield wipers are basic items that have been around and the same concept for over 100 years. Why can’t Tesla spend some of that $20k price mark up to invest little more money and time into those most basic durable items? Next thing the wheels and or steering wheel will fall off?!

Two things can be true at the same time
They have failed at the auto wiper, but they have put binocular distance from any American BEV competitor in regards to autonomy (AI tech in cars), and general tech WHILE producing cars at scale and for a profit. It’s not fanboy to state those things. In the same way you say people need to “stop being complacent and making excuses for Tesla”, people also need to acknowledge how historic and game changing work Tesla has done and be ok saying… I mean the best selling CAR is an EV… so yes we can’t make excuses for failures, but you can’t diminish accomplishments so as not to appear fanboyish
