Cybertruck Deliveries Suspended Temporarily -- due to windshield wiper motor issue

My SC in Houston just told me that my Beast isn't affected (VIN 18355).

Maybe I can assume that my dual motor won't be affected also?

Yep, My delivery was scheduled this morning and only received a message in the Tesla app at 3pm, no call, that my delivery was changed to 6/22 due to a wiper issue…Glad I saw the message before driving 2 hrs this morning, but super disappointed after finding out at the 9th hr I’m waiting another week. VIN 17516

Update, I was notified this morning that they are “hoping” the wiper motor part will be delivered tomorrow, so I can take delivery soon after, as it is a fairly quick process to replace.

Just heard that all Cybertruck deliveries have been halted for about a week. Apparently a new safety issue was discovered with the windshield wiper motor.

I was originally scheduled to pick mine up on June 14th but an hour before pickup they rescheduled me for June 20th. Has anybody heard anything from them or know whether we will in fact be able to take delivery of the CT one the 20th?

My SC said it's all CTs. My VIN is 178XX and it's impacted with all of the other recent deliveries.

just got a call from a service advisor telling me my cyberbeast was on site and ready for pickup. I asked about the wiper issue and she said my truck was not affected. my vin is in the 17,900's

Odd that it only seems AWDs are affected. This is 2 CB that the SC are saying it's not impacted, in the same VIN range as the AWD being held.

Wiper motors are indeed a tech thing… Nissan needed a new wiper motor on the LEAF. The standard one the rest of their cars used was far too noisy because its sound was covered by the noisy motors, So LEAF needed a quieter one. Having a giant wiper that is not too noisy would be difficult… also as the space for it was not enormous. Plus if it draws too much current while scraping ice off It could be a problem.

Seems interesting to me that we are 1.5 weeks away from the end of a quarter and they are putting a hold on all CT deliveries. Why not deliver those where the motor is currently functional or in low risk areas (less likely for downpours) and auto-schedule appointments once the parts come in to cut down on outgoing congestion and SC lots and maintenance teams?

I wonder if that's actually what they are doing by saying "you aren't impacted", I wonder if that means "yours is currently functional".

My vin (assigned 5/7) is just under 12000 and delivery is pending the wiper issue. So I’d say earlier VINs are not necessarily excluded.

Just spoke with someone at my SC and was told that they are still waiting on the wiper motors to arrive. He said the vast majority of CTs are affected and they have a list of specific vehicles that are believed to be affected. They stopped all deliveries however until each truck can be inspected for the issue. So hopefully some will be able to take delivery this week. He also said they don't know the allotments for replacement wiper motors right now, but corporate will tell them which trucks are getting motors when corporate ships them the parts. So here's to hopefully waiting only another week.

Just got a text from the WPB SC. My truck is ready for delivery. Scheduled for 6/20. I guess that means my truck isn’t being held?! I didn’t ask. Lol. VIN 161xx

Just came back from SC. The parts are scheduled to be delivered to SC and my CT delivery is confirmed for 20th. Let's hope it stays that way.
